US Representative Ritchie Torres from New York City announced that he will introduce the “Power To The Players Act” citing that digital video games are a rental disguises as a sale🚀 He explained: "When you pay for a game, you should own it. Consumers must have the right to own, the right to play, and the right to transfer the games they buy. A game that can be taken away the moment a company pulls the plug is not a purchase. It is a rental disguised as a sale.” If it is passed into law, the bill will protect our ability to own and play purchased games. Source: @RitchieTorres Office It’s about time the firm hand of the law took a stand towards the normalized exploitation of gamers under the excuse of “the company has the right to revoke access at any time for any reason without compensation” and actually preserved players’ rights to own the games they buy, and to be compensated in case said game was removed or account was disabled. There can never be full trust in digital games when you aren’t even able to own what you’re buying. In any case, physical media must be preserved, because it will always be the only and most reliable way to play games and have agency over their usage, and they must contain the ENTIRE game, whether on one disc and four even. NO DISC 💿 NO BUY

Something happened to a friend his kid bought a game on his accout none off them even played 0 gameplay time on all accounts. Sony refused the refund so he took it to the bank and they got the refund what he didnt no they locked his account with ober £3,000 with games bought but a refund for 39.99 game where they draw the line. Not only did they ban his account they banned the PS5 making the console totally useless couldnt even trade it in. I seen this also happen so many times in the ps3 era and ps4 era when I worked in game so many parents coming to use because Sony blocked there console and or account. Xbox just refund you the money and take away the game, steam refund you the money take away the game. Sony just take away your console and account if you refund at all.

playstation charged me for an mlb trial, refused to resolve it with me after multiple attempts and suspended my entire account when my credit card company sided with me. this is exactly why physical media matters. imagine having hundreds of games locked behind an account because you disputed one charge. you paid for those games, but sony still controls whether you can access them. that’s fucking ridiculous. i’ve never been happier to have sold my ps5, and sony can kiss my ass!

Ex-PlayStation boss Shawn Layden chimed in on Sony’s plan to end physical media stating “I don't agree with that decision”🚀 While Layden understands the convenience of digital games, he insists that even if 80% of people download games and 20% buy them physically, the 20% is “super important” He added that these are the most “faithful of the faithful” players, who even buy multiple copies of a game to add to their collections🫡 Source: The Expansion Pass podcast ___________ Huge respect to Shawn Layden for having a full understanding of gamers and the importance of physical media, and that it’s not about whether digital or physical has the bigger percentage, but rather honoring the options and wishes of the most loyal, in addition to the many other benefits of physical media. I would do anything to have gave back as a CEO of PlayStation alongside Shuhei Yoshida, both of whom have demonstrated their passion for gaming and great understanding of gaming culture, and both of whom made Sony flourish under their influence and wisdom💿

“The idea that just because we have new technological capabilities, there’s some blanket exemption from the laws on the books, is totally laughable.” Former FTC Chair Lina Khan explains the existing laws that could help regulate artificial intelligence companies.

PlayStation 4 allowed users to copy their saves to USB. PS5 doesn’t allow that, and you need to be paying at least $79.99 a year just to copy your saves to the PS+ cloud🚀 This is Sony, everyone. Their greed knows no limits, and with each new generation, they will take away another feature you always had for free and charge you for it⬇️
Are you Fucking kidding me @PlayStation Because I didn't have PlayStation Plus while playing my Save didn't upload to the cloud. So when I got a Ps5 Pro. I just lost all my save data? No wonder why people complain about PlayStation. What a fucking joke. I put 14 hours into this game and was close to finishing it.

I guess she was right all along One of Lina Khan biggest worries about the ABK acquisition was about mass layoffs, not just for ABK but for other gaming studios within the structure that were currently on
