REPORT: EBOLA PATIENT EVACUATED FROM NIGERIA VIA AIR AMBULANCE
The index patient diagnosed with Ebola virus in Nigeria has been evacuated from the country early this morning through an air ambulance at the private jet wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, ARISE News sources informed us.
ARISE News was tipped off by a news source that the patient who is a woman and wife of a Swiss diplomat in Nigeria would be flown out of Nigeria by 6am this morning through a medivac plane which was already at the airport waiting to evacuate her.
Our crew deployed to the General Aviation Terminal later obtained pictures of the arrival of a convoy of vehicular ambulance from Abuja city centre with diplomatic vehicles in the entourage. The three vehicle convoy had an international Agency vehicle entering the Private Jet section of the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport.
Airport officials cordoned off the private wing of the airport but ARISE News eventually obtained videos of a medivac plane with crews eventually evacuating the sick passenger suspected to be the Ebola index case due to the special nature of the medical evacuation.
A source told ARISE News that the Federal Government will make the announcement of the medical evacuation only after the plane has taken off and exited the Nigerian airspace.

The Nairobi Southern Bypass will be completely closed 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗺𝗶𝗱𝗻𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟮𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿, 𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗹 𝟯:𝟬𝟬 𝗽𝗺 𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟮𝟱𝘁𝗵 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, to facilitate the 23rd edition of the Standard Chartered Nairobi Marathon.
The closure spans the entire section between the Ole Sereni Interchange and Kikuyu Town. Partial closures and security restrictions will also affect sections of Lang'ata Road and Ngong Road near Uhuru Gardens and the Nairobi National Park.

• 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗮 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 / 𝗜𝗖𝗗: Vehicles from Mombasa or the ICD will be diverted to Mombasa Road and Uhuru Highway towards the CBD.
• 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗪𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 𝗞𝗲𝗻𝘆𝗮 / 𝗞𝗶𝗸𝘂𝘆𝘂 𝗕𝘆𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀: Motorists will be diverted onto James Gichuru Road or Waiyaki Way towards the CBD and Mombasa Road.
• 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗴'𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗞𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗻: Access to the Southern Bypass will be restricted. Traffic must use Lang'ata Road, Dagoretti Road and Ngong Road as alternatives, depending on the destination.
• 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗡𝗴𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 (𝗟𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗮 𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗮): Drivers heading to Kikuyu should use Waiyaki Way via Naivasha Road or James Gichuru Road, while those bound for Mombasa Road should route through Lang'ata Road via Karen Road.
The National Police Service is working with the relevant agencies to ensure smooth traffic flow and a successful event.
All motorists are urged to be patient, adhere strictly to traffic rules and regulations, and follow the guidance of police officers and marshals stationed along the affected routes.
Stern action will be taken against anyone found violating traffic rules.

The Ebola patient in Nigeria is Uganda-born. She went to Uganda and was there for some days. Her husband flew to join her in Uganda, and they both returned to Abuja, Nigeria, on October 3, 2026. We want collaboration from this lady. She has to disclose to the authorities if she flew into the DRC, went out of Kampala, and if she was in contact with someone from the DRC.
