Yesterday i asked how you all market your games: i expected 4 comments, but instead over a hundred indie devs showed up.
I turned every tip, every number, every "nothing works" into one readable doc: what worked, what flopped, what to do before launch and at launch.
It's free ofc, it's for the community, it's for my indie bros who, like me, don't have an idea of how to launch a game. Properly.
Thank you all. Seriously.
Go wishlist each other's games now.

This was Microsoft’s confidential international Halo research from October 2000. Only Jaime and I went to the presentation.
The first conclusion they came to was that we shouldn’t call it Halo.
And that point, I checked out and never listened to a word they said again.

A key to productivity with agents is that you have to raise your ambition - give it bigger chunks, take bigger swings.
This is the reason why _experts_ do better with agents. They have a laundry list of "I would do X if only I had time", beginners have no such sense

Opus 5.5 designing LEGO 👀
I asked it to design a Microduck I can build with real LEGO pieces. It:
> designed it life-size using 1113 real LEGO parts
> verified: 3,204 connections, 0 collisions, every step buildable, centre of mass inside the feet 🤯
> made a 141-page LEGO-style booklet (237 steps)
> priced every piece in the browser and prepared the orders on BrickLink

If you were alarmed or put off by DHH’s keynote, you were already toast
This direction has been obvious for at least a year at this point
It's pencils down, people. Writing code by hand is no longer an economically viable skill for most programmers at most companies. But the future of making software has never been brighter. Don't you dare black pill this beautiful moment! youtu.be/vDjW_dRyKXY?si=6Fsf…

Last week I got some rough news that me and bunch of my coworkers were being laid off. I will be using the very generous severance to pause a bit and figure out whats next.
But if you are hiring in the Elixir/Rust/Go/docs/comms space lemme know! I know some excellent candidates.

Never before have I publicly asked for money, and while I'm deeply grateful for everyone's generosity, what I truly need is a job. Thank you to all who donated — your support means everything. I'm attaching my CV in hopes of finding work in the amazing Ruby community.
the community opened their hearts (and wallets) for @YuriSidorov, his fundraiser is a success — looking forward to great you in person 👋

My contract with @GustoHQ has reached it's natural conclusion - there's not much work left to do :)
With that, I'll be available starting in August for:
* Audits/tune-ups
* Long-term retainer
* Training/workshops
I'm excited to get back to working with a diverse group of co's!

I want to start a business just so I can use @Bento. Love that company.
@jessethanley has created one of the great ones.
If you do run a company...why aren't you using it?

something that's really important to me building @bento is reducing anxiety wherever possible.
a good example of this is bulk updates.
in other tools, once you run the update you're screwed if you make a mistake. whereas in @Bento, we send you a CSV backup of your data BEFORE we update so you can restore it quickly if you made a mistake.
all powered by @bento flows of course! ❤️
