Really excellent data driven deep dive on DC’s failure to enforce traffic laws.
Do I wonder if lack of police enforcement isnt really about the racial justice concerns but because attempted traffic stops themselves often lead to deadly behavior

This is better fixed if DC took Fairfax’s sliding scale of a) gross household income and b) ownership proportion to determine % exempt
A household earning $60k should have higher tax exemption than a $155k household

NEW: We sued Fort Myer Construction for illegally polluting DC waterways.
The company repeatedly discharged contaminated runoff and petroleum into DC's stormwater system.
As a result, Fort Myer polluted Springhouse Run stream at the National Arboretum and the Anacostia River.

Update: Department of Public Works says Office of Contracts is still contracting w the dump truck company District Logistics on "emergency" to manage farmers market compost. Move comes after contract appeals board said it should terminate its contract with District Logistics.
Fishy, indeed!
Since 2011 FRESHFARM has worked w/ @compostcab to grow community composting, pioneering a market drop-off model later expanded by The District. But Compost Cab is no longer running the program. Read this @WAMU story for inside scoop! wamu.org/story/24/04/05/dc-c…

Terrifying moments on RCC Road in 4C07 last night. By chance, no one was walking on the sidewalk or playing in this park when it happened. This vehicle was reportedly going ~60-70 mph — effective street design features (speed humps) were the ONLY thing able to stop them.

The status quo at Grant Circle is unsafe, and it has been for a long time.
I secured a commitment from @DDOTDC to improve safety on Grant Circle in 2022. Now we need to improve DDOT’s plan and ensure it is funded and implemented.
Grant Circle needs to be safe for all families.
Just drove through Grant Circle where a woman (who was pushing a baby) got hit by a car that sped off.
This area is beyond dangerous & soon isn’t soon enough to get the safety measures there that are long overdue. Grateful for local leaders pushing! @CMLewisGeorgeW4 @kademian87
