It's true, the "Bible alone" mentality yields a particularly insane kind of Christology. Like God became Man, divinely inspired a Canon of Scriptures that wouldn't even be fully written for a century after His time nor assembled into a Canon for ~300 years, and then said: "OK, I'm done talking now, and done with miracles, just figure it out. And because I'm omniscient I know all of you are gonna disagree, but since I definitely didn't give you any tools to prevent that, you're just gonna have to figure this one out on your own. Also: basically everyone who follows me for the first 1,500+ years is gonna get it wrong, so don't look to them for help." This is a fundamentally insane idea of who Christ is. It also situates the individual believer in a kind of "choose-your-own-adventure" game in which he is always winning, obtaining esoteric knowledge about God, etc.
