I have always loved this about Apple, from Mac to iPhone. They value empowering everyday people with computer technology. While the nerds (the kind who’ve driven me & so many others out of the industry) value empowering themselves over anyone else. We still fight over this.

Apple's 1984 UI guidelines "The Mac is designed to appeal...nonprogrammers, including people who have previously feared or distrusted computers. The user should feel in control... This is achieved in apps that embody 3 qualities: responsivenes, permissiveness, & consistency"
