Austin friends, great opportunity to work with @Brendan_McCord at Cosmos!
I’m hiring a Chief of Staff to be my right hand across everything I do at Cosmos.
That starts with Cosmos Institute (@cosmos_inst), the nonprofit I founded after selling two AI companies, having two kids, and thinking hard about the good life and the good society. Through the Institute, we do research internally and with fellows from @GoogleDeepMind, @AnthropicAI, @OpenAI, @Microsoft, and academia, have given out 200+ grants to build fast prototypes, and we’re launching a big new in-person bet for higher education in 2027. This side of my work also includes @UniofOxford, where I co-teach a graduate seminar on philosophy and AI and support the Human-Centered AI Lab (HAI Lab), as well as a book I’m writing on human autonomy in the age of AI.
On the venture side, you’ll work with me across Cosmos Ventures (@cosmos_vc), our new $77.6M fund backing founders building new institutions for the AI age. Our early portfolio includes companies like AIUC (@aiunderwriting), @PrimeIntellect, and Workshop Labs (acq. by @thinkymachines), with several more to be announced soon. We’re also going to be incubating new companies in 2027.
You’ll come in, do this well for two years, and if you want to build a thesis-aligned company or a nonprofit next, we will back you, or place you at a top company in our community. The role is based in Austin, with relocation provided.
To apply, read our essays and tell us where we’re wrong: docs.google.com/document/d/1…
Honestly jealous of whoever gets to work with Tammy in this capacity. The role looks incredible 🤩 NYC based editor friends, apply!
I’m hiring an NYC-based Managing Editor for @stripepress. The ideal person for this role has substantial editorial experience at a publishing imprint or another publication and is fluent in our universe of ideas, but ideally isn’t my (or our) ideological twin.
Stripe Press is a small team with an unusual amount of autonomy. Right now we’re obsessively focused on the future: expanding our catalogue, rethinking our assumptions about the kinds of books we publish (fiction!?), and thinking about how to connect our readers w/ one another beyond the pop-ups we’ve been hosting since 2022.
Hoping to meet a lot of brilliant people who love books and are excited about building a world-class publishing institution: stripe.com/careers/listing/m…
Congrats Dina! I've been bullish on Gameto for a very long time :)
Gameto has signed an agreement under which Ferring Pharmaceuticals would acquire the company. Completion remains subject to customary and other closing conditions.

The Texas SOS website makes me proud to be a Texan. So simple and easy to navigate. *Shakes fist at Massachusetts*
Software as self-expression is beautiful ❤️
One of the concepts I’ve been thinking a lot about lately is that AI dramatically changes the supply-side economics of creating content, software, games, etc., but doesn’t necessarily change consumer demand.
Consumers have always been interested in sex, money, and status at a base level. Perhaps a more generous view is self-expression, community, and experiences that move them forward on their personal hero’s journey.
I think a real challenge for consumer founders is connecting these supply-side miracles to latent consumer demand.
True customer empathy is very rare, and so much of software is an act of self-expression rather than an act of creating utility or joy for the customer. Founders love the software they make because it tells their story, but customers are interested in their own stories.
I love that yubikeys are suddenly cool. Had a whole drawer of them ready and now can give them to my friends as needed. 🤓
Guide for your friends who are confused about this cybersecurity apocalypse happening right now. Finally everything the privacy people have been saying for years is extremely relevant. Unplug those smart devices and have a go bag ready ;)
My stated preferences: I want to go tango dancing tonight.
My revealed preferences: I want to stay in my apartment filing compliance paperwork until midnight.
Congrats on the launch, @nabihasaklayen !
In partnership with Vinod Khosla (@vkhosla), I’m proud to introduce Reservoir.

Nearly every phone and computer on Earth relies on one plain-text file to know what time it is.
When a country changes its clocks with a few weeks’ notice, or Morocco pauses daylight saving for Ramadan, someone has to update that file. Since 02005, that someone has been Paul Eggert, a computer science professor at UCLA, who does it as a volunteer.
Take a look at this great data visualization to see the full story:

United Airlines has just introduced an awesome new @Starlink Wi-Fi tracker that not only makes it easy to find out if your flight has Starlink, but also gives real-time Starlink installation progress for their fleet.
United has now installed Starlink on 43% of its fleet, with 639 aircraft now equipped. It even breaks down what percent of flights from each hub have Starlink, as well as installation progress by aircraft type. Really cool!
