It’s time for reform. The current emission mechanism only creates monopolies. In a monopolized environment, innovation is stifled. Leading projects, sitting in quiet markets with no competition, grow stagnant and stop pushing forward. Every day, large numbers of investors are fleeing the subnets. Please correct this in time: let the market compete fully, and let investors vote on whether a subnet should receive resources.
@const_reborn
I'm so obsessed with the @bittensor model, where competing for prizes is vetted by validators... open source, OPEN COMPETITION, is the future!
Please explain to me how you're using this stuff fam
"I hot-swapped from Claw to Hermes. No problem whatsoever.”
On the latest Novelty Search, @heydittoai explains how Ditto gives AI agents a shared memory layer, letting users move between agents without losing the knowledge and context they have built up.
SN118 turns that product problem into a live competition: miners improve how agents store and retrieve memory, with every submission tested against a newly generated synthetic user.

我觉得太过一厢情愿了 @const_reborn 👇

I’ve done a lot of fundamental and price analysis on Targon SN4 within the Bittensor ecosystem.
I keep coming back to the same conclusion: it looks highly undervalued.
There are metaverse projects trading at 2.5x the Targon market cap right now that arguably provide little to no utility.
Meanwhile, Targon has multiple real-world use cases, partnerships, and < 5m tokens in circulation, at the time of writing. [2.3m staked or 49.15% of the 4.68m circulating] There's also another 502.99K tokens that have been burned of the total supply of 21m.
Targon Market Cap: $81.86
Targon SN4 Price: $17.46
It seems obvious that everyone should want to trend towards decentralized confidential compute, not away from it.
If the Targon Virtual Machine proves valuable within the Bittensor ecosystem, external demand could grow significantly as users become more aware of the risks and limitations of centralized AI.
They’ve also attracted backing from major investors and appear to have a team more than capable of competing with industry competitors.
My research is nowhere near finished, but I’m buying Targon SN4. 💊

In my 30+ year career as a builder and operator, I have been to many conferences, events, get togethers, round tables, and so on. And I can safely say this was one of the most intense and productive event I have ever been part of.
The future for Bittensor is bright. This event put into perspective how much the ecosystem has evolved and grown in the last 18 months. I got the chance to talk to many folks outside the Bittensor ecosystem, that were at the previous @DCGco summit where Bittensor was introduced into their world. Talking through their observations of what they saw originally and explaining where we are now gives clear insights of that growth and evolution. I can only imagine what this is going to look like in another 12 months.
Incredibly thankful to @YumaGroup for giving @yanez__ai the chance to share our story with the larger @DCGco world. And learn from so many others within and outside the Bittensor ecosystem.
A shout out to @EvanMalanga, @LindsMikeStone, and the rest of the Yuma team for their work in making this happen, and to @BarrySilbert and @DCGco for what they have built and contributed to the advancement of Bittensor and the overall W3 world.

It’s your time to grab some FREE merch. Here’s what you need to do to win an Outsider shirt and a FundamenTAO hat, both by Tao Merch:
1 - Comment on this post: What is Bittensor? In your own words. (One paragraph is enough)
2 - Follow @taomerchx
3 - RT or RQT this post
Quick one. On the 24th, I’ll ask 3 builders from the Bittensor ecosystem to choose the 3 best answers. There will be 3 winners, announced here on the 24th at 10:30 PM EST.
Detail: it’s 100% free. Both items + shipping are covered by @taoutsider and @taomerchx.
Liking this post and following me is optional, but I will be glad.
I’ve said this before: being an Outsider means looking at Bittensor zoomed out. Seeing the whole picture. No bias. Just commitment to the ecosystem.
Now it’s your move.

Bittensor is a crypto-ponzi; unsustainable nonsense!
TAO has no utility or PMF; it is all driven by token inflation:
$328M worth of new tokens are printed annually, yet only $15M in annual revenue was generated!
Subsidies from holders pay for subnets; economically bankrupt: 🧵
Token inflation is used to give people the illusion of low cost. As the truth is that creating AI models in a "decentralized" way is far more expensive. While offering no additional utility or benefits
It is all theatre; subnets are not created as competitive products. They are created simply to exist & extract as much value out of TAO investors as possible
Ponzinomics & Extraction:
For example, the Pine Analytics data proved that unsubsidized inference on the Chutes subnet would cost up to 3.5x as much as centralized competitors such as Deepseek or TogetherAI!
What makes it all so much worse is that token holders pay for these subnets through inflation. Yet, none of the revenue actually flows back to the token holders. The subnet owners get to keep 100% of the revenue! On top of 18% of emissions, just because...
That is a borderline scam, extremely profitable for subnet operators, but setting up token investors for extreme loss when the system inevitably collapses
As TAO has a 21M supply limit, which might be appealing to ignorant token investors. But also implies that the network will entirely collapse, as it is fundamentally unsustainable, just like BTC
Inefficient & Expensive:
The problems run even deeper than that, as is the case with most DePin projects that rely on subsidies rather than real-world value accrual:
The reason why decentralized computing is so inefficient is that it requires verification & replication. Within a trustless environment, we cannot simply trust the work done by individual nodes. Instead, the work must be replicated multiple times over, introducing extreme inefficiencies. This is not so bad for simple TX's, but for serious, large computing tasks, this becomes a deal breaker
This is why 41% of the rewards go to "validators" whose sole task is to verify that the work being done is legitimate!
This only adds to the massive inefficiency already introduced by latency within a distributed network. There are several good reasons why AIs are trained in massive data centers with cards equipped with extremely low-latency, high-bandwidth connections. Something TAO is unable to directly compete with in technical & economic terms
Product Theatre:
In some cases, it is worth paying a premium for decentralization; one example of this is decentralized storage
However, this is not the case for the training of AI's, as this is a one-off cost usually carried out by a centralized for-profit organization. As running the AI itself is much cheaper & even achievable by individuals on a single consumer-grade machine...
So, what is the incentive for this centralized organization to use a more expensive method? That does not even result in a commercially viable product, due to the lack of scale... The answer is that there is no legitimate incentive!
As there are only so many people they can fool into such a ponzinomic scheme, creating an upper bound on the size these subnets can grow to, which is nowhere near what large centralized AI companies can achieve today
Conclusion:
There is no future in such a bankrupt design!
It is all theatre to extract as much as possible; subnets are not created as competitive products. They are created simply to exist & to extract as much value out of token investors as possible!
There is much I did not cover in this critique, including "decentralization theatre", modularity, bad governance, perverse incentives & terrible UX. This critique was purely economic, which is bad enough to reject TAO on that basis alone!
As value investors, we have to avoid such nonsense. It is not only dangerous from an investment perspective, but it also harms the industry as a whole. The more we prop up nonsense like this, the more difficult it will be for outsiders to take our industry seriously
That is why we must speak out, as we care about crypto's ultimate goals. Financial freedom, censorship resistance, privacy & more
Reject the nonsense, as the numbers & facts speak for themselves. Crypto already presents us with such a beautiful dream for the future; let's not spoil our opportunity by wasting our energy on half-baked ideas like TAO
Crypto deserves better than that. So, help us spread this message far & wide. As the truth will set us free! 🔥

Replying to @Old_Samster
The reality is no one serious cares about the 18%, and the comparison does not even make sense, because it assumes that companies are only infrastructure, and do not also include: app layer, distribution, brand, etc.
Bittensor is the infrastructure, a way to produce commodities at scale. The job of SN4 is to produce the most units of compute at the lowest cost. By building this market, SN4 can be a cheaper input relative to AWS for any margin-capturing business.
Given that Bittensor is used to organize commodity markets, and successful commodity markets tend to experience margin compression at scale, a serious operator might actually look to take less than 18%, as that would make the mkt even more efficient, driving down costs, and increasing scale

Google has an estimated 18,000 PhD-level staffers and $291 billion in ad revenue.
Their certification programme trains 40,000 agency partners to spend more, not spend better.
You bid $5. They spend $10. Show your ad for something you didn't ask for.
Bury the defaults so deep in the UI you'll never find them.
This is an adversarial architecture where they hide the data so that you can't even see what you have paid for.
The platform is not designed to work in your best interests.
And the industry built around it? Opinions where facts exist. Ask 10 Ad Managers the best bid strategy for a new campaign and you'll get 10 different answers, each argued strongly as if fact.
That's a data science problem being treated as an eyeball problem.
AdTAO exists to fix that. Our miners don't work for Google. They compete to predict what actually happens in your account, backed by data, not opinion.
