It's really crazy how in a city with an almost nonexistent public transport system, the Abuja Metro Rail is massively underutilized, and it all goes down to poor design IMO. I wonder what the idea for making the most of it is. Any thoughts @TonamiPlayman?

There’s life in the desert; that’s hard.
But there’s life outside of the desert, like now; that’s smooth.
Location: Alliance Française de Lagos, 9 Osborne Rd, Ikoyi, where my photography exhibition, ‘Desserts from the Desert’, is on until tomorrow night.

Do something that almost will kill you, at least twice a year. Something that if you fail it will be epic and if you succeed, it will be epic. To hope for opportunity is to leave your life to chance.
Amazing stuff.
And your 30s will be even better
I turned 30 yesterday! 🥹❤️
Looking back at my 20s, I genuinely feel like I did everything I set out to do, and then some.
Here are some of my favourite highlights from the last decade:
✅ Got legally married to the love of my life ❤️
✅ Became an engineering executive
✅ Wrote 9 books, 7 of which are published
✅ Earned a master's degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech
✅ Earned a business diploma from Stanford Graduate School of Business
✅ Got into one of the best MBA programs in the world
✅ Gave 200+ talks across six continents
✅ Won multiple national and international awards, received recognition from royalty, and even got featured in New York's Times Square
✅ Founded a community that has created learning opportunities for 13,000+ people
✅ Became a Computer Science mentor at universities across Nigeria, the UK, and the US
✅ Taught thousands of people around the world through courses, books, and other educational resources
✅ Relocated internationally twice and built a life across three countries
✅ Joined a venture advisory board
✅ Became a published researcher
✅ Built businesses and technology products, including an AI powered platform I'm incredibly excited about (launching soon)
✅ Built financial independence, enjoyed the rewards of my hard work, and treated myself to some of the finer things in life
✅ Made amazing new friends, reconnected with old ones, and learned to let go of friendships that no longer served me
And somewhere in between all of that, I lived, loved, travelled, made mistakes, learned lessons, and grew into a woman I'm incredibly proud of.
My 20s were everything I wanted them to be. I worked hard, took chances, and made so many of my dreams come true.
I spent my 20s becoming the woman I always wanted to be. Now I get to spend my 30s enjoying everything I've built, dreaming even bigger, and kicking ass while I'm at it! 🥂❤️
Once again, people reacting to the headline without reading the article, which explains why he was described as controversial. Also, being controversial doesn't mean being wrong, but something or someone causing intense public disagreement, debate, or strong opposing opinions.

The Streisand Effect.
The outrage is what has even made the video popular.
Let me share context on this Mbappe’s apology to the Chinese people. This is crazier than I thought and Mbappe lost so much sponsorships, but he’ll be fine.
First thing to note here, and this is what I always say, footballers are not judged the same way as fans.
Fans can say whatever they like most often than not, footballers cannot. This was a harmless joke from Mbappe’s perspective, but just look at how it went sideways. Things are given 200 meanings when it comes out of the mouth of an active footballer.
Mbappe was asked about funny nicknames/memes of himself that makes him laugh, and then he said he’s been seeing the meme of “some guy... I think he’s a Chinese dictator”.
Frame 1 is Mao Zedong, who is highly revered in China. Although, there are some parts of “external” history that classify him as a dictator, however, in China, they see him as a Revolutionist. He’s also a big part of Chinese history, well respected and regarded. It’s also a case of international mockery, which they classified as a disrespect to the Chinese culture.
Frame 2: That is the meme, they replaced Mao’s face with that of Mbappe, hence, the joke “Chinese dictator”.
Anyways, the people of China were offended. These are few consequences from that supposed harmless joke from Mbappe;
1. Dongpeng Beverage had Mbappe on their bottles and they ended their partnership immediately with the player.
2. Mengniu Dairy is one of China's largest dairy producers, they terminated Mbappe’s sponsorship deal asap.
3. Milkground (Miaokelanduo) is also a big cheese producer in China, they ended their partnership with Mbappe.
4. RedNote (Xiaohongshu) is a social media platform in China, and even though their partnership with Mbappe ended in 2024, anything that relates to Mbappe on their platform will be scrubbed off.
Brethren, it doesn’t stop there, they even banned TV stations from showing La Liga because Mbappe plays there. In fact, Tebas has joined in apologising about an hour ago.
This thing go far o, can you see how we as fans, ain’t judged same way as footballers. Just that statement from Mbappe that looked like a joke, see how it quickly escalated from 0-100 and has probably cost him millions of dollars.
