Beat cancer, woke up, "AND ANOTHER THING about AI"

Machines are tools, not persons. Today, some propose granting these systems rights, or even legal personhood. Such an approach risks obscuring human responsibility and leaving those who suffer harm to confront a faceless entity.
Also, pro tip if you want to leave a bucket of candy out there with a "Please take one only" sign.
If you fill the bucket 1/3 full of sand first, it makes it both less likely and more hilarious if someone dumps the entire bucket into their bag.

GREEN ROOM is an absolutely perfect movie that does not work without patrick stewart. it just does not. his send-up of all his paternal qualities, his ability to cauterize that fatherly guidance into something toxic and festering, is the key to that movie's menace. masterwork.

A scene from the film I’m mulling over is where she and Billy were blaming the film crew for WiFi interference for poor connection to a zoom meeting and the crew was explaining how this wasn’t likely in technical terms and Liz & Billy clearly didn’t understand how anything works.
Would you lie to this man?

San Francisco's latest walking tour takes people past cats in windows, and apparently, the demand is enormous.
Nearly 100 people gathered Saturday for a neighborhood “catwalk,” a free afternoon stroll past the homes of local cats, all volunteered by their owners for a moment in the spotlight. The cats, by all accounts booked and busy, had become local celebrities without lifting a paw.
Organizer Lora Lafon told SFGATE the idea began with a Reddit thread inspired by a similar event in Minneapolis. More than 50 households across San Francisco signed up, and interest quickly outgrew what a single afternoon could accommodate.
The inaugural walk was capped at 100 people, leaving another 406 on the waitlist and 388 more expressing interest.
“We're such a big dog city (love dogs too) that it's been really sweet to see how proud the cat owners are when people stop to admire their babies in the window,” Lafon said.
Fortunately for the city's aspiring cat admirers, more walks are in the works, both in San Francisco and potentially across the Bay Area.
