[Applies for wheelchair ramp]
Best we can do is death
'Retired Cpl. Christine Gauthier, who has been trying to get a wheelchair ramp installed at her home for 5 years, testified on Thurs. that a caseworker told her they could give her assisted dying, even offering to supply the MAID equipment for her' ctvnews.ca/politics/paralymp…
No thanks to her current constituents in University-Rosedale -- a class act right to the end. Thanks for nothing to you as well xitter.cf/DianneSaxe/status/2115…
Congratulations to all of the winners last night, including our Mayor and Toronto-Danforth's newest representative, Sara Ehrhardt. May you serve this community with distinction and continue in your devoted service to help this community grow.
To my incredible staff and volunteers - words cannot describe my gratitude for the long hours and stupendous work that you have all devoted to this campaign. I take great pride in what you have all accomplished.
My deepest thanks as well to the people of Toronto-Danforth for welcoming me into your homes and sharing with me what you believe is the best for your future and that of your loved ones.
I am forever grateful.
The talking point that incumbents usually win by a much bigger margin is based on three data points, two of which are “John Tory beats a city planner a few people remember” and “John Tory beats an urban planner a few people have heard of”
A tighter-than-expected re-election leaves the mayor facing questions about passive leadership, thin plans and an unclear second-term agenda. thestar.com/news/gta/olivia-…
I would like to see someone earnestly mount the argument that Ol’ Gil (who endorsed Bradford) was as formidable an opponent to Tory in terms of his network and reach and treatment by the media as Bradford was to Chow
CBC panel was discussing what Olivia Chow might take away from the close race and strong support for Bradford in a hypothetical second term moments before it became a blowout 13% lead.
Very sad to hear this. I met Eric when he interviewed me for a CBC show he was hosting back in 2021, and found him very sweet and gracious toward a television newbie like myself. A talented guy.
Eric Bauza, the Emmy Award-winning voice actor behind Looney Tunes characters like Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, died Sunday at his home as a result of hypertensive cardiovascular disease, according to Los Angeles County Medical Examiner records. He was 46.

Whenever Digger’s not onscreen, the other characters in any movie should be asking, “Where’s Digger?“

Finished Mike Flanagan's CARRIE, which is sorta the first depiction of a "ChatGPT gassed me up and made me do it" school shooter. Endearingly oddball at times, but mostly just bad. He could keep most of these elements and make a decent EMILY OF NEW MOON adaptation out of them.

I’m sure it’s a complete coincidence that this person is accusing this particular American critic of having a fixation on “Japanese/Korean movies.”

ALT A post by Guillermo López Meza, responding to a post by Kyle Turner, which says: “I think American critics have a narrow mentality when it comes to Hispanic (and Latin American, even if this is not the case) works because how intrinsically baroque our language/art/emotions tend to be. They love Japanese/Korean movies, and almost never Indian ones, conversely.”
