A man threw a rock at my car as I was getting on the 5-South on my way home from work. 😢 Never a dull moment in downtown San Diego.

The Port of San Diego’s Cesar Chavez Park rename is TBD, a spokesperson told me. The San Diego College of Continuing Education is also reviewing its "broader connection" to Chavez and the name of its Barrio Logan campus.

See the difference! It was 34 degrees hotter in non-shaded areas on La Jolla Blvd.🌡️ The City's Urban Forestry Program aims to increase urban tree canopy cover to 35% by 2035. So far, 816 trees have been planted under the Trees For Communities project, and more are on the way.🌳

Crazy coincidence: Minutes after my story about San Diego County's potential ban on grid battery storage because of recent fires, the SDG&E battery storage facility I toured TODAY caught fire. voiceofsandiego.org/2024/09/… @voiceofsandiego
