Our managers thoughts on today’s 2-3 home defeat to St Rochs 💭 “A really frustrating day today, and I genuinely felt for our players, who put so much into the game, only to be undone by what looked like two very dubious decisions. I’m never one to complain about referees, and I’m usually the first to be critical of our own performances, but unfortunately, I felt the big decisions went against us today and ultimately had a massive influence on the outcome of the game. From where I was standing, the first penalty looked extremely soft, and as for the second, I think the reaction of the players tells you everything. Nobody appealed for it, yet somehow a penalty was awarded. Credit to Lennon Pirrie, who stepped up and dispatched both penalties really well, taking full advantage of the decisions that went their way. From our point of view, there are plenty of positives to take. We will certainly play worse than we did today and win football matches, which probably makes the result even more frustrating. I couldn’t fault the players for their effort, commitment or desire, and on another day, I believe we would have got the result our performance deserved. We’ll dust ourselves down, reset at training this week and turn our attention to another big cup tie against Giffnock in the Scottish Communities Cup. Finally, congratulations to St Roch’s on progressing to the next round, and we wish them all the best for the remainder of the season.”

Our managers thoughts on today’s 3-1 home victory over Maryhill 💭 “Today was all about making sure we picked up three points after the break last week, so I was pleased to see us get the job done. I thought we were very good in the first half. We had Maryhill on the back foot for the majority of it and deservedly went into half-time 2–0 up. We caused them plenty of problems while limiting them to very little at the other end. Maryhill came out in the second half and tried to put us under pressure, but ultimately it was our own mistakes that gave them a route back into the game. That gave them a 10–15 minute spell where they had a real go at us. However, I thought we responded well, regained control of the game and, on another day, could easily have scored four or five if it wasn’t for some excellent saves from their goalkeeper. I was also really pleased with our two new signings. Ben, who has joined us permanently, and Jai, who has come in on loan from Cumbernauld, both made a real difference today. They were direct, caused Maryhill all sorts of problems and can both be really pleased with their performances. Great to get back at it today and, most importantly, get another three points on the board. Hopefully we can carry our good league form into next week when we face Neilston.”
