“The model here is about love. I was talking to some people from the House of Lords and I said this, and they said, ‘Yes, but what is your strategy, there must be more to it?’ And I said, ‘Yes there is, it will be relentless love’.” @SteveChalke @OasisRestore @Oasis_UK
Oasis Restore represents a revolution for the youth justice system & real hope for the young people who become our students. Yesterday we welcomed around 100 guests to meet our staff & discover more about the science behind our therapeutic work. More here👇🏼tes.com/magazine/analysis/sp…
And as a result, we have a youth mental health crisis, an employment crisis with young people unprepared for work, and an education crisis with more young people unable to access our one-dimensional, academically focused school system. Success?
I grew up listening to @richardpbacon on the radio and was genuinely gutted when he left 5Live.
So his new podcast “Why Are You More Successful Than Me?” feels like bumping into an old mate after years apart and instantly picking up where you left off.
And this is a brilliant episode with @chrismccausland - well worth a listen.

Today, the Government published its National Youth Strategy, setting out a ten-year plan to rebuild youth services.
Informed by a national survey of more than 14,000 young people across England, the strategy includes a commitment to ensure 500,000 young people can access to a trusted adult outside the home, alongside a range of other measures.

A brilliant listen.
Join Simon live in Chicago as he chats with pioneering American video game developer Alex Seropian (@steakbacon).
Alex is best known as the co-founder of Bungie, the studio behind Halo: Combat Evolved, the landmark FPS that established Microsoft’s Xbox as a viable platform.
Find out how Alex founded the company while a student at University, and why, after Apple's Steve Jobs revealed the game on stage, they took Halo to Microsoft.

Hey @SouthernRailUK - everyday the 7:23am from Littlehampton to London Bridge is due to depart from platform 1 after the 7:40am (on the digital display). 🤔Everyday 2mins before it arrives it changes to platform 2. Everyday I witness confusion of the irregular passengers. Why? 🤷🏻♂️
For 25+ years I’ve worked in youth & community work and one challenge never seems to go away…
👉 How do schools and youth work truly collaborate?
When it works, it’s magic. When it doesn’t, young people fall through the cracks. Let me explain 👇
#YouthWork #Education 1/6
📊 Real impact this year:
🤝 21 community partners
🎶 Music turned pain into purpose
🥊 Mentoring built confidence
⚽ Football taught teamwork
📉 Behaviour incidents ↓ 41%
📈 Attendance ↑

What stat stands out most to you?

It’s not about “fixing” young people.
It’s about standing with them, until they can stand tall themselves. 💪
Because when education & community come together, hope wins. 🌱
