Have a look on Sky Sports Premier League and count the number of empty seats at Goodson Park.
Everton must be losing so much money keeping Goodson Park open with these crowds. @POF_POD

Hilarious, if it wasn’t so serious. One of Burnham’s Labour MP’s demanding a private company must engage with her to save jobs, which her government has destroyed. The devastation of Britain under a socialist regime.
Poundland has filed to enter administration, putting 11,000 jobs at risk just weeks before Christmas, including here in Brixton.
I stand with Poundland workers and @UsdawUnion.
The owners must engage with workers and ministers, exploring every option to save jobs and shops.

Because of Labour, a single employee is now £4,460 more expensive to employ.
For a business like Poundland - operating on ultra thin margins - you’ve added £49million to their wage bill a year.

Nothing highlights the fiscal failure of this government more starkly than the plight of Poundland. The chain's 600 stores and 12,000 workers sit on the verge of collapse, not because its customers have walked away - Poundland's sales grew by 6.7% in September - but because of this government's unaffordable tax rises, which makes it impossible to run a business that works on slim profit margins to keep its prices down for its customers. How ironic that a government preaching about helping the least well-off is forcing a company out of business that does just that.
The Friday morning rush hour train into London Moorgate is next to empty with it being half term.
Very quiet considering the Piccadilly Line is closed for engineering work. @McWhirterAlex @AndyBTravels @BBCTomEdwards

How can I business like Poundland have sales growth 6% - yet are going bust ! I really feel for its 12,000 staff who face loosing their jobs just before Christmas. Is it bad management or is it their margins are so low they can’t operate in the current climate of taxation ?

New minimum wage: £27,456 a year.
You're about to see public sector workers demand massive wage increases
You can earn almost as much as a qualified teacher for stacking shelves or flipping burgers

1.8x difference.
In 1997 there was a 5x difference.

BREAKING
The OBR suggests that successive increases in the national living wage and the employment rights act will hit jobs
It says the employment right act will have a ‘negative economic impact’ and hit businesses through ‘increased uncertainty, lost flexibility and higher Labour related costs’
It says that these will ‘more than offset’ any potential increase in productivity

The majority of British pubs will not fall into the Chancellors Business rate reduction.
For me, this was a move to get headlines that they’re trying to save pubs.
Extra wage increase will be the final nail in the coffin for many struggling.
THEY ARE KILLING PUBS 🍺

The Budget was a disaster for Hospitality. I hoped the Government would finally listen and deliver. I’m sad to admit I was wrong.
Rates relief means little when employment and operating costs keep rising. What matters is the total bill landing on the doormat, and whether there’s enough left to keep people employed and the doors open and this budget helped just 2.9% of Hospitality venues - and only just.
The cavalry didn’t just fail to turn up. They ran away.
Hospitality has been patient. We’ve put forward the evidence, explained the consequences and made the case for a VAT cut. We cannot keep running on warm words.
To the MPs who have publicly backed a cut, thank you. Whatever your party, that support matters.
To those who haven’t: don’t expect endless hospitality while staying silent about the policies putting us out of business.
Perhaps it’s time the welcome on our doors reflected the support we get through yours.
