My first job in tech m for more than one year was doing exactly this. Open sap tickets on ca service desk and copy paste the details. I got so frustrated that I shouted on my manager eventually for giving us no work. The dude working in Germany onsite was asking me reports and picking issues in excel sheets. 😂
it’s actually worse when i was in big tech i saw people doing nothing for months in my team we had people who we couldn’t fire either so we gave them random tickets that were basically “open a dashboard every day and if u see something in red ping someone on slack”

In India, we look at those with humanities as some lower forms of life. But truth is, studying humanities develops your brain to the reality of the world. And you can not become a good scientist or tech guy if you don't understand atleast some basic humanities. Indian science graduated neither understand science well, nor humanities. They just pass exams and learn how to do the job. Their thinking ability, to think original ideas, identify and connect patterns is practically zero.

It’s kinda crazy to me that we melt sand down, clean it to 99.99999% purity, literal wizards have to draw it slowly into an ingot, we cut it, inscribe a hundred billion little on/off switches on it, and when you run electric current through it you can do basic arithmetic, which when you do enough of it can do any math on the planet, and which describes reality well enough that we can teach it the ontological meaning of words and their distance from each other on a high-dimensional space, and if you ask, it can tell you what word comes next and that apparently is powerful enough that if you do it a hundred billion times it’s the smartest thing to ever exist oh yeah and we use this primarily for email

I as Health Minister tried to bring a Health Act to cap prices in Private Hospitals. Obviously, the Private Hospital lobby did not want that law and therefore Health Secreatary also opposed it tooth & nail. Unfortunately, Hon’ble HC Judge took side of Health Secretary & it indirectly helped the Pvt Hospital lobby. I told Hon’ble Court about it. But he did not listen. Instead he threatened to send me to jail. 😀 Hon’ble Judge is now Hon’ble SC Judge.
An information which may be very disturbing to everyone. A medical distributor of a particular injection which is used in chemotherapy, his wife was suffering from cancer. She was taking treatment in a very renowned hospital. We will not take the name of the hospital. So the dealer requested the hospital authorities, sir I am myself a dealer and to me the injection comes at Rs. 11,000 dealer price. The hospital refused to administer that injection and charged Rs. 1,30,000 for that injection. Can you show any justification for this loot, please? Why this difference? Where does the money go? Supreme Court asks Centre

It's reverse actually. Many new technical jobs will be created, but only for those who can create new things, new ideas, solve some problem and sell. It's not like all 7.5 billion people in this world were working in IT and they are not consumers. Only the jobs existing in top tech which paid people salary will be gone. But there's opportunity to open many new because everyone can now create an idea quickly, show some revenuemodel, raise capital and make money. The mindset will have to be changed now
The end is near, I dont see tech jobs lasting for more than 3 years from now. Make alternate sources of income guiz fastt🥲

Same was in my company too btw. Hardly any work and whatever there was, ws too stupid a job to be called technical. That why I got frustrated and disillusioned with indian IT sector and left it. Intellectually it has been a great satisfaction since then, spending every moment since last ten years reading something or learning something from varied fields and domains. Not so on financial front but that can change anytime now. To be honest, the kind of work indian IT sector has, it was bound to some day experience a massive lay off as the automation takes place. A huge number of people employed, even at middle level are just managing and doing the jobs of screenshot taking and logging in tools, and many don't even know how client server architecture works, what is tcp, http, udp, and basic technical terms.
Day at Microsoft, instagram is full of this.

Creative People or organisations who had a lot of ideas are happy with rise of AI, because they can now build their ideas without worrying about cost. Engineers or professionals who built their entire career, entire personality around doing repetitive jobs will suffer because AI can now automate all their work with efficiency increasing every day.

Yup, I have worked few years so I often laugh when many from bhakt brigade claim that american economy will fall apart without H1B. 60-70 pc are doing silly jobs in Indian IT companies which easily automatable now by AI
98% of X hasn't worked in proper tech jobs (let alone your infy, tcs, tech mahindra, not even your usual jobs at startups are highly technical. Most Indian grads will not do core CS work ever) but have all kinds of opinions on highly technical jobs, hiring trends etc.

Noone in this world needs yoga , spirituality and all these things other than indians because no other society has so many social evils, customs, norms, boundations, and so much of population on top of that. Indians are stressed with all those things that youga and gods are the only thing they rely on to solve their problems because they see no other way.

anthropic and open ai, or any ai companies are just tech innovation companies who found a new way to do things. Anyone who thought taht writing test cases or building html css or javascript, same code copying from here or there repetitively is a job worth being called engineering was living ina fools paradise. The next step was always to automate those repetitive things. Engineering is about solving new problems, creating new things not repeating the same thing documented.
Anthropic and OpenAI have blood on their hands
