Y’all are big on talk and short on action. You and Brad could’ve done a lot for Palestine right here at home. Brad could’ve divested nyc pensions from israel. You could’ve arrested Netanyahu and Hind Rajabs killer; dropped Jessica Tisch; stopped the stolen land sales, and more.
Today, Brad Lander, rabbis, and other New Yorkers accompanied Palestinian farmers during the olive harvest. For that, they were detained by the Israeli government.
Harvesting olives is not illegal. The occupation is.
I am thankful that Brad has been released. But other New Yorkers remain detained, and they must be released immediately.
The same Israeli government detaining them has committed a horrific genocide against Palestinians, killing more than 74,000 people over the last few years alone.
The detention of these New Yorkers must end. The occupation must end. The genocide must end.
What’d I say would happen? A politician goes to the West Bank, gets arrested knowing he’ll be safely released, then turns the moment into thousands of likes. But Palestinians defending their own land? They get imprisoned for years, abused in unimaginable ways, killed and forgotten. Brad had power back home. He could’ve divested NYC pensions from the bombs killing Palestinians. He chose not to. Stop confusing political theater with solidarity. Stop letting politicians turn Palestinian suffering into a photo op. For god sakes, I’m sick of these devils.
Btw— Jeremy is one of the few journalists who’s been to the West Bank that I absolutely respect. He gets it 👇🏼
Ro Khanna, Brad Lander and Darializa Ávila Chevalier are cynical political operators, to varying degrees, who weigh the risks of a political action against the career benefits it might bring. When the calculation makes sense, they proceed. A brief detention in the West Bank or an arrest outside the UN while protesting Netanyahu becomes a mission accomplished.

Why do you invest NYC pension funds in Elbit Systems?

Last night, Israeli settler militias set fire to a monument at the entrance to the village of Burqa, east of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank, and torched an uninhabited house for the second time.
I’m so fucking tired of the celebrity worship of white journalists who go to Palestine to “document the occupation.” They build platforms off our oppression, then attack Palestinians the second our politics don’t suit them. Meanwhile, Palestinian journalists document this reality every fucking day, often until they’re killed doing it, and rarely receive the same recognition. Stop making celebrities out of people who parachute into our suffering. Recognize the Palestinians who live it.
Last thing for tonight: look how easily those who commit genocide can cross borders while Palestinians are caged on our own land. The demon who killed Hind Rajab is strolling through NYC freely as a tourist. Brad Lander who invested NYC pension money towards the bombs killing Palestinians can easily stroll through our land. Palestinians get checkpoints, displacement, and death. Those complicit in genocide get passports, platforms, and a fucking tour.
Liberal Zionists like Brad Lander want you to believe that going to the West Bank to “witness the occupation” is some courageous act of truth-telling. It’s really not, it’s so fucking dehumanizing. Palestinians have been screaming, documenting, filming, and burying our dead for decades. Why does it take a white Jewish politician repeating what Palestinians have told you for generations before our reality suddenly becomes credible? We don’t need outsiders to validate our suffering. We have decades of testimony and footage. The only thing these trips are shedding light on is how desperately some people are trying to save face while Palestinians continue paying the price. Fuck off my land Brad, and take every single Zionist with you.
Palestinian from the West Bank here. You want to know what we want? Our land free of occupation and settlements. Want to help? Get the fuck off our land, dismantle the settlements, and take your genocidal war criminals with you to hell.
I'm in the West Bank this week as part of the “Protect the Harvest” coalition along with @israelispeaceny, @ucpinpalestine & Protect the Harvest, which is bringing people together from around the world to help Palestinian farmers harvest olives in the face of state-sanctioned settler terrorism.
Our goals for the trip are to help protect the olive harvest — and to shed a light on the reality of the occupation. To ensure that international solidarity goes beyond the harvest, to become a sustained commitment to protecting Palestinian communities from settler violence, forced displacement, and the ongoing threats to their right to remain on their land.
And, speedily and in our day, to secure human rights, safety, equality & freedom for both Palestinians and Israelis.
Thankfully, our corner of today's harvest was peaceful and successful. But violence unfortunately is never far away.
We’ll keep you posted on our efforts this week, especially the stories we hear from Palestinians on the ground. Protect the Harvest.

it’s crazy that Jessica Tisch was born a billionaire and is just doing this because she loves to be evil. Like her hobby is police

The State Department has finally responded to my FOIA request for internal emails about my arrest and incarceration by the IDF. The release includes 105 pages of emails sent and received while I was in prison, followed by another 41 pages from the period when I remained inside Israel, without my phone or passport, and subjected to more than 20 hours of interrogation. The emails reveal U.S. officials scrambling behind the scenes to figure out how to handle my case. Despite all the internal activity, the State Department said absolutely nothing publicly about my case.
On the very same day I was blindfolded and arrested at a checkpoint outside of Nablus, a State Dept. official sent a memo to everyone saying "The 7th Floor (Blinken) and the White House are tracking this story closely."
