the @LC ecosystem is one of the best designed in decentralised social, but any time I look at it I have this feeling that everything looks amazing and nothing makes sense
the lens.xyz > onboarding.lens.xyz sequence is a good example of this
"create account" leads to "create account" and suddenly I have to connect a wallet; if I hit "explore" i'm looking at 5 apps but still don't know how wallet / account / username fit together
I like that Lens makes the different apps visible, that's part of what makes decentralised social interesting
but I think these patterns expect users to know too much coming into the experience and don't give enough focus to the possibility of creating your own client, which is much (much) easier now
Treating intelligence as an external resource, rather than a moral responsibility or a judgement of your own capabilities, is a critical skill in surviving AI
It reminds me of the importance of delegation and of "getting the right people on the bus, then deciding where to go" approach from management best practices
The difference is that those decisions used to be the remit of the few people in a leadership position
