I guess I'm glad that Vin Scully died without having to see the most humiliating collapse in the entire history of the Dodgers franchise, maybe any franchise.

Saving these desperate efforts to pump up crypto as “didn’t age well” reminders. Both for the promoters and the gullible/colluding press.

You mean there are uncorrupt Russian oligarchs? planet-today.com/2022/03/us-…

Apparently Russian oligarchs refer to London as “the laundry.”
“What did you do to stop 43 million Ukrainians from being terrorized and enslaved by Russia’s fascist dictator?” If your answer is: “I helped preserve internet connectivity in Russia.” Then you may have the wiser head, but you certainly have the shorter memory.

I’m surprised (I shouldn’t be) that RIPE and others who administer the internet are trumpeting neutrality when even the Swiss govt has understood that “neutrality” in the face of mass murder has another, less pleasant name.

Bitcoin is the new currency of Russian oligarchs. I guess it has a real-world use case after all.

I still think it's a tragedy that we haven't spent 1% of the resources on testing messages that we have on developing the vaccine. Getting enough people to actually take the vaccine is crucial--and it's not simply a medical issue. It's a matter of behavioral science.

When Americans start moving north instead of south we’ll know that they’re taking climate change seriously. It will happen but we’re not there yet — you can buy 4 houses in Milwaukee for the price of one in Austin, TX.

The world is going to hell. But just about every society in history has been convinced that the end of the world was just around the corner. They were right, because all those worlds are now lost. I won’t lament the passing of this one.
The Taliban are clearly much more popular in Afghanistan than the kleptocracy they replaced, or they wouldn’t have taken over quicker than COVID spreads in Sturgis SD. When we spend trillions and kill thousands to spread democracy we might want to remember what that word means.

Twitter disproves the old adage that opinions are like assholes - everyone has one. All the assholes here have lots of opinions and all the opinions are shared by multiple assholes.

Suddenly complaining about the weather no longer passes for small talk.
