#GladysReyes is game for another intense sampalan scene and already has a few actresses in mind with whom she would love to share a dramatic face-off, including veteran actress #MaricelSoriano and rising star #FyangSmith. As she introduced her new role as a recording artist with the release of her debut single, “Primera Kontrabida,” Gladys expressed her willingness to take on a hard-hitting confrontation scene with Maricel, even joking that they could settle things through an actual sampalan. “Siguro Miss Maricel Soriano, sampalan na lang kami. Sampalan tapos walang daya,” she quipped. READY FOR MARICEL The actress also recalled working with Ina Raymundo, whom she praised for her commitment to delivering realistic slapping scenes. “Pero siyempre, love na love ko si Ina Raymundo. Nagkasama na kami sa pelikula pero talagang matinding sampalan. Of course, alam na alam na rin si Ina. Parang halos hindi niya talaga dinadaya, ‘di ba? Sampal kung sampal. At gustong-gusto ko ’yon,” she shared. For Gladys, nothing compares to the impact of a genuine sampalan scene, as she prefers performances that capture the actors' natural reactions. “Kung gaano man kagusto, hangga’t maaari, walang daya. Totoo ang pagsampal ko. Gusto ko gano’n din ako. Kung ako’y sasampalin, hangga’t maaari, totoo. I don’t mind. Kasi iba talaga ‘pag lumapat yung pisngi mo doon sa kamay, ‘di ba? ‘Yong sumampal sa’yo o ‘yong sasampalin mo, iba ang reaction mo,” she explained. NO FAKING THE SLAPS However, she acknowledged that actors sometimes have to make adjustments, especially during exhausting shoots when everyone is already tired. “Pero siyempre, may mga pagkakataon na hindi maiiwasan na may makikiusap sa’yo, baka puwedeng palabasin na lang na ganyan. Eh siyempre, pagbibigyan mo naman ’yon, di ba? At lalo na kung masyado nang matagal ang araw, pagod na ang mga kamay.” Gladys also expressed interest in working with younger actors, whom she described as promising, talented, and versatile. Among the young stars she would be game to work with is Fyang, with Gladys showing that she is open to sharing an intense scene with the rising personality. “Ah, oo, ‘yong mga bago nating mga artista ngayon, ‘di ba? Very promising and very talented as well. Sige, so kailan ko sasampalin si Fyang?” she jokingly shared. “Mukhang game ‘yong batang ’yon, ‘di ba? Nakakatuwa rin kasi ilang beses na kaming nagkasama sa mga guesting. I think isa rin sa mga handler namin…” GAME TO SLAP FYANG The veteran actress likewise mentioned other young talents she finds exciting to work with, saying that many have the potential to deliver memorable performances.
