🚨 “I’m going to shoot all of you!” Canada Must Treat a Death Threat on a Toronto Sidewalk as a Crime A free country is judged by what it allows on an ordinary street. Circulating video from Toronto shows a man wearing a People’s Republic of China flag patch confronting Falun Gong practitioners at a public display, grabbing banners that read “Stop Persecution of Falun Gong” and “Stop CCP Transnational Repression,” and leaving poles and signs on the ground. On the original audio, he can be heard saying: “The Ethnic Unity Law is now in effect. I’m going to shoot all of you.” That is not political argument. It is an alleged death threat, delivered in Canada, against people exercising a Charter right to worship and to protest. A Chinese statute has no force on a Toronto sidewalk. A man invoking Beijing’s law as a license to execute believers in Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance is importing a police-state slogan onto Canadian soil. Toronto Police Service should preserve every second of the original audio, identify the speaker, and determine whether the words meet the Criminal Code test for uttering threats, alongside possible assault and mischief. The Ontario Attorney General and federal public-safety officials should not treat this as a noisy quarrel between “community groups.” If the speaker is linked to United Front work or consular direction, that belongs in an RCMP and CSIS file. Canada already knows the pattern: harassment of Falun Gong practitioners, pressure on families, and hoax bomb threats that disrupted Shen Yun in Toronto this year. A filmed threat to have people shot is the moment when “awareness” must become enforcement. Investigate the video. Transcribe the audio. Charge whoever broke the law. Give the targeted practitioners a public accounting. A democracy does not prove its values by lecturing Beijing. It proves them by making clear that “I’m going to shoot all of you” is a crime in Canada, not a talking point from another country’s statute book.

This story just goes to show if you have electronic Device made in China, it's probably recording and reporting back to the PRC.
Since Monday, guards at every gate of Kadena Air Base on Okinawa have been turning away anything built by BYD. Private cars, contractor vans, taxis, delivery trucks. No exceptions. The base calls the Chinese cars an unacceptable risk to its people and its mission. Think about what a BYD Sealion 7, sold in Japan, does on its own: cameras around the body stream a live 360-degree view of everything nearby. Now park it beside a flight line where F-22s and RC-135 spy planes operate. The car is the sensor. In June the Pentagon put BYD on its list of 188 Chinese military companies, a label BYD rejects. What I keep coming back to is that Tokyo has been building the same wall all year. Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told parliament last November that a Chinese attack on Taiwan could be a survival-threatening situation for Japan. Beijing retaliated in January by banning dual-use exports to Japan's military. Tokyo called it absolutely unacceptable and refused to retract a word. In April it moved to restrict local-government tech purchases to state-certified products, which in practice shuts out Chinese vendors. Last week Nikkei reported a new security certification for data centers and cloud services, widely read as aimed at Chinese providers. Beijing keeps trying to punish Japan for saying out loud what Taiwan means to its survival, and Japan keeps answering by closing doors. BYD has been opening more showrooms in rural Japan, where trains and buses are thin. As of this week, none of those cars gets past Kadena's gates. — ACI

⚠️ Wake up, Europe! Urgent Expert Warning: “Any cooperation with Beijing means that Europe will be subject to economic plunder by the CCP and the weaponization of sovereign loans. In the long run, an alliance with the CCP will only accelerate the speed of Europe’s economic decline.” Two leading experts — Robert Benson (Deputy Director for National Security & International Policy at the Center for American Progress) and Eduardo Castellet Nogués (Non-resident Researcher at TRENDS Research & Advisory) — have issued this blunt alert. Beijing does not see Europe as an equal partner. Closer ties = exploitation, not partnership. Concrete dangers already happening: • Chinese overcapacity dumping (BYD EVs crushing Germany’s auto sector, threatening hundreds of thousands of jobs and once-prosperous regions) • Strategic port control: COSCO taking 67% of Greece’s critical Piraeus Port + 24.99% of Germany’s Hamburg Port • Sensitive data grab: Spain greenlighting BYD buses in public transport, giving CCP priority access to transportation data • Retaliation playbook: Rare-earth bans on Japan (2010), Lithuania (2023), and threats to the U.S. (2025) Europe is sleepwalking into dependence while naively hoping Beijing will help end the Russia-Ukraine war (it’s actually propping up Moscow). Wake up, Europe. Stop undermining the existing order. Distance from the CCP now. Diversify aggressively to India, Southeast Asia, the Global South, and trusted allies. Enforce anti-dumping measures, secure critical raw materials, and protect your sovereignty, jobs, and future. Your competitiveness depends on strategic discipline — not a “doomed-to-collapse” bridge with Beijing. [ The Real CCP China ] The video of a shirtless, emaciated elderly man foraging in a roadside trash bin undercuts Beijing's claims of a world-leading social security system. On October 10, Human Resources and Social Security Vice Minister Li Zhong reported that basic pension coverage had reached 1.079 billion people and pledged to use data tracking to locate the remaining uninsured and push the rate above 95 percent by 2030. The footage, shared with ironic commentary branding the scene as "support for the elderly," shows a frail man identified by viewers as a former farmer who once contributed labor under earlier mobilization campaigns. Official statistics emphasize scale and expansion, yet the image exposes the distance between enrollment drives and actual provision for those who age out of the formal economy. This contrast highlights how numerical targets and surveillance-enabled recruitment do not resolve benefit inadequacy or the residual poverty of rural cohorts whose past contributions yielded little security. The episode indicates that top-down expansion of the rolls continues to leave the most vulnerable exposed.
[ The Real CCP China ] The footage of a young child in rural Sichuan squatting on a dirt floor to mix plain white rice with soy sauce drawn from a nearly empty bottle exposes the gap between official narratives of national prosperity and the material conditions still faced by many ordinary Chinese. The child, appearing no older than four or five, repeatedly tips the bottle, dilutes what remains with water, and scrapes the last drops into a simple bowl. No other food is visible. The setting is spare and unadorned, consistent with conditions long documented in interior provinces despite decades of rapid growth concentrated in coastal cities. Chinese state media and external propaganda channels continue to emphasize urban skylines, high-speed rail, and poverty-alleviation statistics while rarely circulating unfiltered images of this kind. When such clips do spread, online responses frequently attempt to reframe them. Bullet comments overlaid on the Sichuan video assert that the scene is from Los Angeles and that the child is American, a deflection that treats visual evidence as a foreign fabrication rather than a domestic reality. These efforts illustrate a consistent pattern: the Chinese Communist Party treats unflattering depictions of everyday hardship as political liabilities requiring narrative correction. Yet the persistence of such footage, and the clumsy attempts to misattribute it, underscore the difficulty of fully suppressing observable conditions once they enter public circulation beyond tightly controlled platforms.

Beijing is not preparing to storm Taiwan. It is rehearsing how to strangle it, and the first island chain has just answered. The Blockade Is Already Being Drilled The sharpest signal this month came from a coast guard cutter, not a warship. On October 20, a China Coast Guard vessel entered restricted waters off Taiwan's Dongsha Island, concealed its track, and radioed that the Republic of China does not exist before Taiwan's coast guard drove it off. It was the 12th such expulsion at Dongsha this year. Two days earlier, the CCP sent 12 coast guard and research vessels and four fishing boats to probe waters east and south of Taiwan and around Dongsha. In Taipei, Randall Schriver, chairman of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission, called the patrols east of Taiwan the most worrying development he has seen recently, an extension of lawfare, political warfare and information warfare. The logic is plain. Coast guard hulls, militia trawlers and research ships let Beijing manufacture jurisdiction it does not possess and rehearse a quarantine while staying below the threshold that triggers a military response. The Chain Is Built to Fight on Day One The allied reply is no longer symbolic. Keen Sword 27, running October 19 to 29, is the largest US-Japan exercise to date, with roughly 45,000 Japanese and 12,000 American personnel, and France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand and the Philippines joining for the first time. US Marines placed the NMESIS anti-ship system on Yonaguni, about 110 kilometers from Taiwan, and HIMARS on Ishigaki. Japan deployed its Type 25 anti-ship missile, with a range near 1,000 kilometers, outside Kumamoto for the first time. The design is explicit: firepower ready on day one, not reinforcements summoned across the Pacific after the fact. Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. has said geography makes neutrality impossible for Manila if Taiwan is attacked. That is Beijing's miscalculation in one sentence. Coercion meant to isolate Taipei is binding its neighbors into a single front. Strangulation Is a Confession The gray-zone campaign also exposes weakness. Purges that removed a defense minister and a former Rocket Force commander have dragged on readiness, and Reuters reported on October 1 that US officials see a full invasion before 2028 as increasingly unlikely. A Party that cannot trust its generals, and cannot lift enough troops across the strait, is betting on strangulation over invasion. That makes the gray zone the main front, not a sideshow. The test for Washington, Tokyo and Taipei is whether they contest it at sea as deliberately as they now prepare for the war Beijing is trying to avoid. ACI — Aric Chen | Insights
🇺🇸🇯🇵 US Typhon missile launchers are staying in Japan — permanently. After Valiant Shield 2026, these Tomahawk-capable systems won’t be going home like last year. Positioned on southern Kyushu, they can now strike deep into Chinese territory from the First Island Chain. Beijing is furious. The missile gap just closed. Full breakdown here. ⏬ insights.aricchen.com/p/typh…

To be precise: Taiwan's Coast Guard reported the CCG vessel at Dongsha had its AIS switched off. CCG ships transmit AIS when they choose. This one chose to go dark while entering Taiwan's restricted waters and radioing that the ROC does not exist. That choice is the point.

Why is this classical Chinese dance technique called “kicking the swallow”? In Chinese literature, swallows were known for soaring high through the sky. In this technique, the dancer’s leg reaches remarkably high while her upper body arches dramatically backward, as if she were trying to kick a swallow in flight. Hence the name Chuai Yan (踹燕). The variation pictured here is called Ruan Chuai Yan, or “soft Chuai Yan.” Executing it requires extraordinary flexibility, with the leg extended to more than 170° while both legs remain straight and the body moves into a deep backward arch. It’s a remarkable combination of flexibility, strength, and control, with movements that have also influenced the back-scale techniques seen in gymnastics. A moment of beauty, built on years of hard work

Here's the area Aric is referring to in his article. As you can see the shoals are very close to The Philippines and I suspect that this area will be the trigger for the future Pacific War unless the PRC changes its' ambitions. The US recently entered an agreement to build out 7 joint Philippine/US bases on the islands to include Palawan. NEMSIS missile based on Batanes (in the north) have the ability to protect Taiwan which can't make the PRC very happy.
"It is not a state of war but an act of war." Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro asked reporters on Friday to quote him accurately on that line, which covers any use of force against BRP Sierra Madre, the Navy ship grounded at Second Thomas Shoal since 1999. Beijing's side of the week arrived differently. The list of ten countermeasures, towing the Sierra Madre among them, ran in Chinese Commercial News, a Manila paper with ties to Chinese state media, citing unnamed sources. Fuel and fertilizer cutoffs. Sanctions on Filipino politicians Beijing considers hostile. A block on resupply to the outpost. Teodoro said he expected the threat, noting that China has no unofficial media. That's the part I keep coming back to. Beijing floats the threat and keeps the denial in its pocket. Ambassador Jing Quan ran a version last week: "If we want to use force, we may easily win," then "we love peace." Summoned by Manila's foreign ministry, he denied making any threat. Asked whether a Chinese boarding could bring in the Mutual Defense Treaty, Teodoro said the possibility is open and the decision belongs to the president. Washington has said repeatedly that the treaty covers armed attacks on Philippine public vessels anywhere in the South China Sea. None of this is new, and none of it is lawful. In 2016 an international tribunal ruled that Beijing's nine-dash line claims have no legal basis and placed Second Thomas Shoal inside the Philippines' exclusive economic zone. Beijing rejected the ruling and has spent the decade since enforcing the claim it lost. In June 2024, China Coast Guard personnel armed with axes and knives boarded Philippine boats on a resupply run to this same ship, and a Filipino sailor lost his thumb. That is the peace Ambassador Jing says Beijing loves. ACI — Aric Chen | Insights

[ Margin Notes ] They didn’t send an argument. They sent a note. At the 2026 Seoul Defense Dialogue, Philippine Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro was mid-sentence on gray-zone coercion and UNCLOS when a staffer handed him a slip of paper from a Chinese military attaché. Beijing’s position, in miniature: the 2016 arbitral award is “illegal, null and void.” It has “no binding force.” China “neither accepts nor recognizes” it. Teodoro did the one thing the note was not designed for. He read it aloud. Then he answered it, line by line. No binding force? Because you refuse to be bound by the law you signed. You do not recognize the ruling? Of course. You lost. He held the paper up to the room and called the stunt what it was: coercion wearing a name tag, bullying passed down the aisle, aggression that could not even wait for the question to finish. He said it trampled UNCLOS and insulted South Korea, the host, in the same cheap gesture. Then, in Filipino: show a little decency. Have a little shame. The hall applauded. This is hegemony as stationery. Not a case. Not a diplomat on the panel. A scrap of paper slipped to the speaker, as if the South China Sea were still an internal memo and the rest of Asia a secretary. A great power that cannot win in court tries to win by interrupting. A claim that cannot survive daylight tries to survive as a whisper. Teodoro said he would keep the note as a memento. He should. Empires usually leave monuments. This one left handwriting. When your map of the sea depends on pretending a tribunal never happened, sooner or later you have to write it down and hand it to the other man. Sometimes he reads it back. And the room claps. — Aric

This is unacceptable! A Chinese man was filmed near Mount Fuji’s Lake Kawaguchiko spraying liquid from a backpack tank he claimed was pesticide brought from home onto public grass. The video, widely shared, exposes reckless disregard for Japan’s environment. This act prompts deep concern and demands condemnation plus official investigation into possible contamination.

The indictment of five Taiwanese suspects for a staged collision that injured comedian Huang Yi-hao exposes a clear pattern of Chinese Communist Party transnational repression aimed at silencing satire directed at Xi Jinping. In December 2025 Huang performed material mocking Xi’s appearance, education, and policies. On May 29, 2026, individuals paid by a Chinese intermediary threw paint mixed with feces at his Taipei venue hours before a show. On September 11, a separate group tracked him for weeks, then deliberately struck his scooter in New Taipei, seeking to break his limbs and cancel a later performance. New Taipei prosecutors charged the five with attempted serious injury, noting payment of NT$450,000 from a Chinese national identified only as “K.” These successive attacks demonstrate Beijing’s willingness to outsource intimidation and violence onto Taiwanese soil in order to chill political speech. Taiwan’s prompt investigation and prosecution of the local actors, while incomplete without the mainland principal, nonetheless affirms that democratic institutions can raise the cost of such interference. The episode underscores that free expression in Taiwan remains under active, extraterritorial pressure from the Chinese party-state.
A #Taiwan comedian joked about Xi Jinping. But #CCP recruited local gangsters to throw paint & feces at his club, & rammed him in a staged car accident. Good that the #Taiwan gov’t cracked this #transnationalrepression case. #China should be condemned! xitter.cf/Terenceshen/status/200…

At least seven times since April, Japan's Joint Staff has logged Chinese warships sailing through the narrow gap between Amami-Oshima and Yokoate-jima, a channel most people outside Japan's defense ministry couldn't find on a map. None of those passages broke a rule. That's the point. Beijing is exercising navigation rights that international law guarantees to every ship, and it's exercising them on repeat, through the Ryukyu waterways it would need in a war. Retired Rear Admiral Katsuya Yamamoto laid this out in Tokyo on Tuesday. He commanded destroyers, served as Japan's defense attaché in Beijing, and now directs strategy and deterrence work at the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. At the Foreign Correspondents' Club of Japan, he said the repeated transits let the PLA Navy watch how Japan responds, learn the local waters and put psychological pressure on island communities. Above all, they make Chinese military activity in the area look normal. I'd put normalization at the center of this story. Each transit is a single legal event, but stacked together over months they amount to a rehearsal. The Party studies the terrain in peacetime, then points to international law when anyone objects, the same body of law it brushes aside when its own claims in the South China Sea are challenged. October showed how fast the tempo is running. On October 14, days before Keen Sword began, the carrier Liaoning came through the Miyako Strait with three guided-missile destroyers and launched aircraft about 155 miles south of Ishigaki, inside Japan's exclusive economic zone. Yamamoto also pointed back to last December, when the PLA ran drills around Taiwan that Beijing itself promoted as blockade practice. His sharpest warning was about the empty places. Chinese ships keep working near narrow straits and uninhabited islands where no Self-Defense Force units are stationed, and he said that familiarity could make it easier for China to put unmanned systems or even special forces onto nearby islands. In a Taiwan conflict, he added, every US base in Japan could become a target, not only the ones on Okinawa. He was just as direct about what Beijing will throw into the gray zone: fishing boats, yes, but also commercial airlines, cargo ships, shipping companies and port operators. Beijing calls this military-civil fusion. In practice it means any Chinese civilian hull or airframe near Japan has to be read as potential military capacity. His prescription is the part I find most persuasive. Japan should lead the gray-zone response itself, with the US backing it rather than standing on the front line. The alliance already carries the deterrence load at scale: Keen Sword, running through October 29, puts about 45,000 Japanese personnel alongside US forces, with seven other countries taking part. But a Chinese frigate in the Amami channel is a job for the Coast Guard, local governments and private operators as much as for the navy, and Yamamoto wants all of them in the response. The latest entry in that Joint Staff file: a Luyang III destroyer, hull 133, and a Jiangkai II frigate, hull 535, heading west into the East China Sea on September 15. The same pair had gone south through the Miyako Strait on August 22. ACI — Aric Chen | Insights
🚨 China and Russia Flew Around Japan Twice in a Single Day. Tokyo's Answer Cannot Be Another "Serious Concern" — It Has to Be Steel. Two formations. One Saturday. Six aircraft from the Sea of Japan down to the East China Sea by afternoon. Four more from the East China Sea out into the Pacific off Shikoku before sundown. The Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) scrambled. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) lodged "serious concerns" with Beijing and Moscow. Russia called it the 11th joint strategic air patrol. The Chinese Communist Party (CCP) called Defense Minister Shinjiro Koizumi's pushback "groundless." Per Russia's Ministry of Defense, the air group included Tu-95MS strategic missile carriers and Chinese Xian H-6K bombers, escorted by Su-30SM, Su-35S, and J-16 fighters — a six-hour patrol arcing across the Sea of Japan, the East China Sea, and the western Pacific. It is the first confirmed China-Russia joint bomber flight since December 9, 2025, when a near-identical package transited the Miyako Strait days after a People's Liberation Army (PLA) J-15 fighter illuminated a JASDF F-15 with fire-control radar over international waters. None of this is "annual cooperation." It is a synchronized squeeze on Japan's southwestern flank, choreographed in the months after Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi told the Diet on November 7 that a Chinese attack on Taiwan would constitute a survival-threatening situation for Japan. The message Beijing and Moscow are sending — with nuclear-capable Tu-95s and long-range-missile-capable H-6Ks — is blunt: defend Taipei, and the bill will arrive over Hokkaido and Okinawa. That is the threat. Japan should answer in kind. I support every yen Tokyo spends accelerating its counterstrike capability. Tomahawks on schedule. Type-12 stand-off upgrades. Aegis-equipped destroyers in the water. Deeper integration with the United States, Philippines, and Australia. Tighter — though unofficial — coordination with Taipei. A diplomatic démarche is paperwork. Steel is a deterrent. The CCP-Kremlin axis is not stirring. It is moving. Two flights in one day, with bombers built to carry nuclear payloads, is not posturing — it is rehearsal. Japan is right to scramble. Japan is righter to rearm. And the world should stop pretending Beijing's "regional peace" boilerplate is anything other than cover for the most dangerous authoritarian alignment since 1945. End the appeasement reflex. 🚨 A CCP security file with 24,170 records is built around one task: turning overseas social media accounts into real names, ID numbers, home addresses and sometimes employers and family members. The Epoch Times says it obtained the database. It's called the 涉政落查人員庫, roughly a registry of "politically involved" people to be traced. In the Party's political-legal jargon, 落查 means running a target to ground, identity and location both. After duplicates, it covers a little over 10,000 people. About 93% of records carry a mainland location, and 4,783 people are pinned to addresses precise enough for a home visit. Some of those may be pre-emigration addresses or a relative's, which puts family within reach. The Epoch Times says it couldn't verify the full dataset, though spot checks on public figures matched. Who's on it? Wei Jingsheng, Chen Guangcheng, Sheng Xue. Falun Gong practitioners, Epoch Times and NTD staff, Shen Yun performers. And left-wing students and labor activists who actually support communism. That last group is the detail I keep coming back to, because it means this isn't an ideological list. The only test is whether the Party has decided you're a threat. The database doesn't explain how an X handle becomes a street address. Federal court filings do. On October 4, FBI agents arrested Wanying "Heather" Zhang, a 34-year-old Irvine realtor, at LAX before she could board a flight to Shanghai. Prosecutors allege she and an associate went to Seattle in September 2025 and surveilled Lai Ting-yu, son of Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te, sending photos, video and license-plate information to Chinese officials. She's charged with acting as an unregistered agent of the PRC and hasn't been convicted. Taipei's Presidential Office called it a classic case of transnational repression. The next day, the Justice Department announced it is seeking to strip citizenship from 40 people. One is Ping Li of Florida, sentenced in November 2024 to four years. He admitted working at the direction of China's Ministry of State Security from at least 2012, feeding it information on dissidents, pro-democracy advocates and Falun Gong practitioners. Beijing hacks when it can, but the last step is usually a person, whether that's a realtor in a rented car or a houseguest who turns out to be reporting back. Sheng Xue says she had the second. She appears in the file three times, under Sichuan, Gansu and Canada. She told The Epoch Times that from 2013 to 2017 her husband, sister, uncle and brother were pulled into online groups built to attack her, and that a man who lived in her home for a long stretch was later found to be a CCP agent. Washington is building the legal tools to match. Prosecutors charge these cases under other federal statutes today. The bipartisan Stop Transnational Repression Act from Senators Adam Schiff and John Curtis, introduced July 14, would put a definition of the crime in the federal code and allow up to 10 more years in prison plus a fine of up to $100,000. Canada's C-219 would write the term into Canadian sanctions law. Beijing has already mapped door-level addresses for 4,783 people. What I want to know is how many of them are the parents of someone posting from New York or Vancouver. ACI — Aric Chen | Insights

The pattern of rapid post-collision ignition in Chinese electric vehicles points to structural risks in an industry engineered for volume and cost rather than layered mechanical redundancy. Surveillance video from an October 17 intersection collision shows one vehicle erupting in flames within seconds of impact, compressing the practical escape window far below the five-minute thermal-runaway warning once required under earlier Chinese rules. Comparable cases include the October 2025 Chengdu crash of a Xiaomi SU7 in which the driver, traveling at 167 km/h while suspected of impairment, died after impact short-circuited the low-voltage system and disabled electronic door releases that lacked an external mechanical backup, and the Shanghai Li Auto Mega fire days later in which flames engulfed the cabin in seconds before a coolant-related recall.
