Science should never be about 'me.' It should always be 'we'--more and better things get done with great teams.
Here a collection of wonderful people came together to do an amazing thing @OmanDrilProj!

Microbial sulfate reduction is active in highly alkaline serpentinization fluids and could provide an energy source for subsurface life on Earth and potentially other planets.

Perseverance's successful landing has given me much needed inspiration to wrap up this dissertation chapter on lipid biosignatures in a Martian analog environment. Let's look for signs of past life on Mars!

Deep serpentinization (40 - 80 km) during subduction can generate significant amounts of hydrogen and abiotic methane, potentially providing energy sources to the overlying subsurface biosphere in the forearc

From @tris_caro:
Hyperalkaline springs (here in Oman) often result from alteration of mantle rock by H2O and release fluids rich in H gas, an energy source for microbes. We use these microbes to better define habitable environments in our solar system.

Yesterday we processed metagenomic data all the way from the raw sequence file to annotated MAGs using @DOEKBase. Today I'm ready to tackle metabolomics! @EMSLScience #summerschool2020

LGBT+ identies need to be accepted and embraced within STEM workplaces, especially in Geology, as the nature of fieldwork means colleagues have to get to know each other on a personal level. This infographic shows the % of LGBT+ colleagues who are 'out' across scientific fields.

ALT “In the United States, as elsewhere, LGBTQ people face significant disadvantages; these disproportionately affect LGBTQ people of colour.” – Freeman (2018) . “There is a notable absence of broad scholarship focused on issues of LGBTQA identities in STEM professional workplaces.” – Yoder & Mattheis (2016) . “Diversity programmes to develop the scientific workforce at both the US National Science Foundation (NSF) and the US National Institutes of Health (NIH) consistently leave out LGBTQ people.” – Freeman (2018) .
