New Blog post about how I race myself on my way to work arundquist.wordpress.com/202…

Still playing with driving a pendulum by sending the pivot point around on a vertical circle. Here's how the poincare section changes as the frequency goes from 1x to 1.2x the resonant frequency of the pendulum
First an animation of a pendulum whose pivot is driven around a circle. Then an image of the Poincare section of the motion showing ~100k periods. Took a while to find a combo of circle radius and friction to get some cool chaos going!
Here's a fun project I've been working on hamlineoracle.com/11961/life…
Working on a blog post about the colliding block pi calculation. Here's what happens if the collisions take a little bit of time (spring-like collisions instead of instantaneous momentum transfer). Number at top is the number of collisions of the small block (m2=100m1)
hmmm. It's an animated png but it looks like it's not looping. I guess you have to wait for the blog post :)
I know I should wait for pi-day for these sorts of things but for some reason I was thinking about this recently

I needed popcorn for this one.
Me: "Did you not make 750,000 dollars?"
Vivek Ramaswamy: "Not at the time I had applied for the [Soros] scholarship."
Me: "Yes you did Vivek. This is awkward for you because you did. I've got the tax returns in front of my face."

so-called "no code" appsheet takes some good algorithmic thinking to use. Here's a vid for future me on how to do some tricky things with it youtube.com/watch?v=cuy0qfIJ…
