This “Palestinians are not a people” hasbara is worse than moronic, it’s evil. It doesn’t matter if Palestinian was a distinct identity historically. What matters is there were specific people with specific property on specific land who were wrongfully dispossessed of it. Their argument is like saying “Californians were never historically a people, they are just a subset of North Americans. Therefore, it’s acceptable to take their land and homes, expel them to Canada, and never let them return.”

Palestinianism is not an ethnicity. It is an invented subset of Arabism, which can be hardly separated from Islam. This means the Arab Muslim ethnicity, with its vast population and land, can make room for 8 million Israeli Jews, concede some land for them to be sovereign. This is especially needed because Arabs/Muslims have proven their inability to treat non-Arabs and non-Muslims as their equals. Not only Jews should get their sovereign state, but also Druze, Christians, Kurds, Alawites. It’s a matter of preserving diversity, which is impossible under Arab/Muslim sovereignty.

Israeli government TV admits that its operation in Hebron, which has involved the ethnic cleansing of entire neighborhoods, has unearthed no arms. Despite lies that Hebron was full of terrorists, only one rifle and one pistol were found in a search of hundreds of homes. The people of Hebron are peaceful, and even the IDF admits this operation is pointless and needs to end.

The Islamic State was a much bigger threat to the region than Hamas. Hamas is an anti-colonial, nationalist militant group that commits atrocities against civilians. It's akin to the Mau Mau in Kenya or Viet Minh in Indochina. It has no ideology of global conquest. ISIS and other Salafi Jihadist groups, conversely, actually want to exterminate the region's minorities and commit terrorist attacks in Europe and the US. ISIS was also much better equipped than Hamas and had far more territory. And - despite the fact that ISIS, unlike Hamas, engaged in actual human shielding - the US/Iraqi Military/Peshmerga killed far fewer civilians in defeating ISIS than the IDF killed civilians in the so-called "war" in Gaza.

Note how ridiculous it is to let a terrorist government like Hamas in Gaza establish the ground rules for military action. Putting it in another context, the US should have allowed Islamic State to set its military policy?
