Back in 2018 I wrote an article on moral panics. I collected anecdotes and similarities between today’s moral panic and those of the past - particularly the Satanic Panic of the 80s.
This is my finished product:

Haley Stevens was going to do a Democratic unity rally with Abdul El-Sayed and James Clyburn where she was going to encourage her supporters, many of whom have serious reservations about El-Sayed, to vote for him.
This was very important for El-Sayed, because Stevens is popular among Jewish and black Michigan Democrats and Clyburn is an icon among black voters nationwide. El-Sayed has weakness with both of these groups and needs to shore them up going into election day.
Stevens's condition was that he make an unambiguous, unqualified condemnation of the antisemitic rhetoric his friends, supporters and surrogates have been using, including in ads run in Michigan.
El-Sayed refused to do this, and instead asked Stevens not to appear at the event. At that point, Stevens realized that he was not interested in unity with her or her supporters and that she could no longer support him for Senate.
El-Sayed is an antisemite. He is friends with antisemites Hasan Piker and Cenk Uygur. He will not condemn them. He will not condemn the awful things they say.
He has had multiple opportunities to condemn their hateful rhetoric, and he always says: "He is not part of a campaign, nobody speaks for me but me, and I'm not here to talk about that."
That's not good enough. If that is how a Republican talked about Nick Fuentes or Richard Spencer, it would be the biggest controversy in the race. The fact that so many Democrats are willing to tolerate this from Abdul El-Sayed is an indictment of the entire party.
There is no coalition that can include both the Jewish Democratic members of Temple Israel and supporters of the Hezbollah terrorist who tried to murder their preschool children. Abdul El-Sayed made a decision about who he wanted in his tent.
Haley Stevens was late to realize it, but it is admirable that she finally decided to be an upstander instead of a bystander. No Nazis in the US Senate.
I had to read the comments to notice but damn Allen’s helmet is twisted ALL THE WAY AROUND

The globalists are done with democracy as a system too risky after voters chose populist conservatives. Now it's time to control the sheep "for their own good."
Last month, Elissa Slotkin brags about how she went to Poland and Hungary and "brought home the playbook to get out of 'authoritarian' governments." WTAF. 🤯
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Poland, Radosław Sikorski is celebrating the globalist coup. Here he is last month alongside Elissa Slotkin.
Are you awake yet?!

April Allbritton/April Reuning is a grifter who uses every election to falsely present herself as a Christian inspired to vote for Democrats because of Christian values. She’s a trans activist married to a man who is transitioning to her clothing and dress style.
Christianity is not neatly partisan, and she’s doing the same thing for the left that she accuses the Republicans of doing on the right. Every Democrat position is portrayed as a Christian value in an effort to mislead the public and spread her own brand. I’m not religious but do know that the Bible warns us against these types of frauds.

I’d like to remind everyone that one of the deepest and most poignant Final Fantasy games has you playing as a monkey boy who saves the world from his twink older brother with the help of a rat, a child, a weird chef, a princess, a manufactured black mage, a knight, and some guy.

I find this correlation interesting because of my own experience.
I started dyeing my hair unnatural colors at 15, when I was struggling with depression and low self-worth. Just over four years ago, I stopped, coinciding with the happiest and most mentally healthy period of my life.
Around that time, I moved from California to Tennessee, underwent a political realignment, changed careers to journalism, and entered a relationship that led to marriage and starting a family.
I stopped dyeing my hair unnatural colors because maintaining it had become impractical. I was busy doing work I loved, and my appearance became far less important. I built a strong sense of self-worth from my accomplishments and from feeling like I was making a positive contribution to the world.
There’s nothing inherently bad about self-expression, but everything has its limits. When it becomes a superficial substitute for self-worth, the time spent cultivating an image of yourself can distract you from building a life you’re actually happy with.
This year, I returned to my natural childhood hair color for the first time since I was 14. I spent much of my life wanting to look distinctive. Now, for the first time, I want to look like someone else: my daughter.

I always thought it funny that Batman has to keep defeating & locking up the same obviously dangerous criminals - why does Gotham City keep letting them out? A necessary plot point to allow the comics to keep going forever, I thought
But no turns out that's just New York for you

Why yes, of course, 4th graders in Washington state are being brainwashed by a trans-identified woman into fearing the exclusion of boys from girls' sports as a threat to themselves. That's just the baseline.
A 4th grade teacher in Washington says the kids in his rainbow club are SCARED and he's voting NO on every initiative on the ballot..
The "scary" initiatives: one says girls' school sports are for girls, with a doctor's note to verify. The other restores the Parents' Bill of Rights, which includes notice BEFORE their kid gets medical services at school. The campaign behind them polled the sports one at 56%, with 48% of Democrats saying yes.
Funny how the adults keeping 9 year olds terrified are the same ones who say they're protecting them — these people shouldn’t be anywhere near kids.

And everyone knows the people attacking Stevens now would be celebrating any Republican who came out in support of a Democrat because the Republican running was too extreme.
She is doing exactly what many of them insist principled Republicans should do in many other races.
Replying to @AGHamilton29
Stevens tried everything she could to appease that crowd. she didn't want to do this because she knows it likely means the end of her personal prospects in Dem politics. She tried to give El-Sayed every chance to show he could change or to try to reach the voters he has alienated.
He just refused because it's who he is and she realized that staying in a coalition with people who hate you just to stay in the tent isn't worth it.
Most of these women would barely talk, which would make it a nice flight.
Aerith definitely would, but she’d be a fun convo.

there's something so sinister about how the entertainment industry keeps putting out all this "forgive your abuser" and "evil people are just damaged" propaganda. she kidnapped her because her hair kept her young. that's it.

The Raiders’ plan continues to be to play Kirk Cousins as long as possible, and right now, they don’t believe he is to blame for their recent struggles after a 3-0 start. Cousins leads the NFL with 16 touchdown passes, is third in the league with 1,817 passing yards and has thrown only five interceptions through seven games.
Unlike last year, when Maxx Crosby openly wondered about his future in Las Vegas, this year he doesn’t want to go anywhere and the Raiders currently have no plans of trading him, according to league sources.

An extraordinary passage in the NYT/Peltola story: Voters inconveniently picked a second Democrat to fill out the four-person general election Senate ballot, which could have undermined or spoiled Dems' Sullivan scheme. So the self-proclaimed 'Party of Democracy' pushed that elected candidate out of the race -- thus allowing a THIRD 'Republican' to qualify for the top-four ballot. That new candidate was...also mysteriously recruited to run by a political operative.
