✈️ Headed to SF for GitHub Universe! Almost forgot about the new Burbank airport. Excited to check it out.
Heading to GitHub Universe! ❤️
There’s so much happening with AI, open source, and developer tools. Some of the talks I’m most excited about explore the people, communities, and ideas making it all possible.
A few sessions worth adding to your schedule 🧵👇
🔐 Open source security is top of mind and I love seeing what happens when we invest directly in maintainers.
Looking forward to hearing @cmaiacd from @scanapi_ and @GreggCochran share how funding, AI tools, and community collaboration are helping strengthen open source security.

🌱 AI is reshaping open source, and foundations have an important role in what comes next.
I’ll be moderating a conversation with @techgirl1908 (Agentic AI Foundation), @drdavidawheeler (Linux Foundation), and @priyapahwa19 (Django Software Foundation) at GitHub Universe.
We’ll explore what foundations are doing to support their communities, embrace AI, and shape the future of open source.
What should I ask them? ❤️

I understand the frustration with AI slop. Maintainers and moderators are overwhelmed. seeing r/opensource introduce rules that exclude new projects, solo maintainers, and people who rely on translation tools is disappointing.
I understand the need for moderation, but these seem like the wrong criteria for an open source community.
We should be making open source easier to contribute to, not harder to participate in.

users have been asking for "hide whitespace" to stick. now it does - set it once and your preference will be saved for future PR reviews
