One unexpected benefit of a high income is that it reduces the urge to liquidate/capitalize on volatile investments that are fucking mooning. I aint selling until it makes me a millionaire.
I resigned from McDonalds today. I spent the last three years doing cheeseburger research at both McDonalds and Burger King. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving burgers and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
The gap to exit the mermanent permaclass is narrowing
Demand for Astra is really unprecedented. We're pulling all the levers possible to sustain the demand, but I've not seen anything like it until now and we went through very steep growth before. Priority will always be to keep excellent service for existing users, but we might have to pause new Pro subscriptions for a bit if this continues.
As a researcher in physical AI for the last few years, i would like to admit that the bitter lesson,
Is indeed bitter. Very bitter.

Not true. I do think travel is generally overrated for anyone who is not very wealthy, but if you fly to japan and you've only lived in America or Europe you will be absolutely shocked and in awe and its so worth it.
modern travel is increasingly flying 10 hours to experience a slightly different version of the same globally optimized lifestyle.
same third wave coffee. same natural wine bar. same brutalist menu. same sourdough. same beige hotel. same tasteful ceramics. same instagram lighting.
what a ridiculous convergence.
Silicon Valley is really an amazing place. A regular engineer who grew up in borderline poverty, and is not even a particularly good engineer, can achieve some level of financial freedom (fuck you money) in just 2 years (me).
God forsake Sunnyvale, CA.
When your manager posts something retarded and you have to reply to it because you still want that promo next cycle
My company has a fat monorepo with some hundred million lines of code. What is the right way to go about doing this?
Today I've been putting Hermes Agent to the ultimate test of dramatically cleaning up the Hermes Agent repo.
One /goal and it's been working for ~15hrs now and has simplified, unified, optimized, removed, or in some way cleaned up the repo enough to shed 375,000 lines of code.
it's had waves of ~120 subagents, 3x sets of 15 subagents with all of those subagents able to spawn their own subagents (yes, recursive subagents all the way down) for almost the entire time - and my single desktop machine has handled it like a champ.
Pretty epic test of the limits of both the latest gen models and Hermes Agent
Stay tuned for more!
