Let me show you what it's like to live in an autocracy. This morning, the heating went off in New Belgrade due to a technical malfunction. My mom, an educated woman and a medical doctor who has traveled the world, immediately assumed it was revenge by remnants of the regime because we voted against them. Autocracies change your psyche. The state becomes an actor that persecutes you, takes from you and watches you. This fear and distrust make it harder for people to connect and organize collectively against the regime. Russia is Serbia multiplied a hundredfold.

I'm happy to avoid Brazilian politics, but Lula's bizarre remarks about Zelensky being "as responsible for the war as Putin" must be revisited now. Does he stand by them after months of Russian war crimes? Does he defend a war of imperial conquest?

The last time Reform were polling in 3rd place, it didn't take much for them to fall below the Lib Dems in projected seats This is the danger of having an electoral geography that tries to squat over both Labour & Conservative strongholds — it can turn against you very easily

In 1983, a BBC interviewer asked Richard Feynman why two magnets push each other apart — and he refused to answer it. What he did instead is the best seven minutes on thinking ever filmed. Bookmark & watch today, no matter what.

Maybe the most amazing aspect of the Russo-Ukraine War is that Russia is getting backing from both China and the USA, the two largest powers of the moment--and Ukraine could still emerge triumphant as long as Europe backs it stoutly.

Eric Deters told me in an interview that he warned Susie Wiles, Ambassador Guilfoyle, and Don Jr. last week that he would share this incident with reporters if they didn’t help him with an extradition to help his clients.
Businessman Eric Deters claims Kimberly Guilfoyle, now the U.S. ambassador to Greece and ex-fiancee of Donald Trump Jr., asked him to wire $100,000 to pay her American Express bill in exchange for her help with the Trump administration ahead of Guilfoyle's Senate confirmation hearing. @weijia reports. cbsn.ws/3TIMxle

Deters: "I have paid you $300,000 over the years. ... I need results." Guilfoyle: "Stop papering all these things. It’s really dangerous. Just call me on Signal. ... if you write an email or a text about, l’m gonna kill you cause I love you but you’re so out of control"
This is the most comically corrupt thing i've read in a long time (and that's saying something for this era). How Guilfoyle could be allowed to remain in her post is impossible to imagine. Rubio is in Greece right now! wsj.com/politics/policy/guil…

Manchester City's principal sponsor say they are considering taking legal action against the Premier League. Etihad Airways is the Abu Dhabi state airline which has sponsored City since 2009.
