Announcing our critical philosophy of AI seminars for 2026-2027: ‘Yet Another Machine For Producing Gods’
cpct.uk/2026-2027/ Each week pits a philosophical text and a technical document against each other to interrogate presuppositions and provoke radical reflections.

Thing is, we actually know perfectly well what goes on inside the box. It’s the so called “interpretability” that desperately struggles to make more out of it than what was there, that leads to the black box nonsense. See : arxiv.org/abs/2512.18792

Watch this.
Lubna Speitan, author of the Greens4Palestine motion “Zionism is racism”, spells out the central obscenity of our age – the grotesque inversion whereby the victims of ethnic cleansing, Apartheid and genocide must constantly fend off accusations from their tormentors that it is they who are the racists.
“We as Palestinians are being silenced and gaslit and vilified [as we] witness the annihilation, the cold-blooded murder of our families, of our people… our children burnt with phosphorus, having to endure amputations with no anaesthetic, having their limbs torn and shredded, their bodies burnt by phosphorus, being starved to death … And to have to sit here … and try to bury my feelings so I can eloquently and diplomatically shield my anger, my rage, my anguish that every Palestinian is feeling, is an insult.” /1
LOL as if being a “Lord on Leave” and Labour whip is not precisely the platform Palantir are paying Watson for. The leave taken here is from any remote notion of a moral compass.
Mr Polanski, I know you have a reputation for being scrupulous about checking your facts, but you’ve missed an important detail.
My contract requires me to remain on leave from the Lords, surrender my parliamentary pass and forgo all access and voting rights for the duration of my employment at Palantir. I do not, therefore, take any whip.
I fear this makes me rather less useful to the whips’ office than you imply.

Our petition for a public inquiry into Britain’s role in Gaza has hit 10,000 signatures.
Now, let’s get it to 100,000 to force a debate.
The public deserves to know the full scale of Britain’s complicity in genocide.

Amazon Zoox robotaxi, a Google Waymo car, and a Tesla Cybercab became trapped in a viral face-to-face standoff on a narrow city street in 🇺🇸Austin, Texas, showcasing a classic real-world artificial intelligence deadlock.
The vehicles met head-on on a narrow side street constricted by cars parked on both sides. Because each company programs its vehicles with proprietary decision-making algorithms, the vehicles struggled to establish right-of-way protocol without a human driver to initiate a courtesy gesture or negotiate positioning.
Eyewitnesses noted that the Waymo continued to creep aggressively forward instead of yielding. Meanwhile, the Tesla Cybercab - which runs entirely unsupervised on vision-based software without a steering wheel or pedals - was seen reversing to clear space for the others.
Observers also pointed out that Zoox’s unique bidirectional carriage design makes native reversing straightforward, though both it and the Waymo remained locked in position for several minutes before traffic could clear.
This event highlights a prominent operational barrier for autonomous fleets: multi-platform coordination. While current robotaxis excel at perception and safety when interacting with fixed obstacles or rule-following humans, they struggle when they encounter another AI entity governed by a completely different set of non-standardized routing protocols. Similar standoffs between Zoox and Waymo vehicles have previously been documented in San Francisco, indicating that “algorithm clashes” are becoming a frequent consequence of multi-fleet urban deployments.
Can the robotaxi companies program “courtesy gestures” as part of their algorithms?

It is beyond ridiculous that this man is still a life peer and retains the Labour whip.
When right wingers push for university courses to prioritise ROI, what they really mean is for them to become RnD labs for the military.
Purdue University's IDEAS Lab built an autonomous drone that tracks runners through dense forests completely without GPS or cloud networks.
By running 3D LiDAR mapping and obstacle-avoidance AI entirely on-chip, it can weave under tree canopies and predict target movement through blind spots in real time.
Massive implications for next-gen search & rescue and edge AI.
