Before Meg Ryan and Tom Hanks stole our hearts in romcoms, there was Jane Fonda and Robert Redford. Barefoot In The Park is still a fabulously fun movie, and proof that love needs laughter.
R.I.P. Mr Redford.

We are deeply saddened by the loss of our founder and friend Robert Redford.
Bob’s vision of a space and a platform for independent voices launched a movement that, over four decades later, has inspired generations of artists and redefined cinema in the U.S. and around the world.
Beyond his enormous contributions to culture at large, we will miss his generosity, clarity of purpose, curiosity, rebellious spirit, and his love for the creative process.
We are humbled to be among the stewards of his remarkable legacy, which will continue to guide the Institute in perpetuity.

BREAKING: Gary Lineker to Leave BBC After 26 Years
Gary Lineker is set to leave the BBC after this season’s final Match of the Day, with his last appearance scheduled for May 25, 2025. An official announcement is expected Monday.
Lineker, a former England international footballer turned broadcaster, has hosted Match of the Day—the UK’s flagship football highlights show—since 1999. He is also the BBC’s highest-paid presenter. His departure means he will no longer lead coverage of the 2026 World Cup or the FA Cup, despite prior plans.
The decision comes after controversy over a recent social media post in which Lineker shared material critical of Zionism that included a rat illustration—an image historically associated with antisemitic propaganda. He apologized “unreservedly,” saying he was unaware of the image’s connotations and “would never knowingly share anything antisemitic.” BBC executives reportedly found his position “unsustainable” after the incident.
Lineker has been an outspoken critic of Israel’s war on Gaza, publicly stating in an April 2025 BBC interview that the “mass murder of thousands of children” in Gaza was not a neutral event—and that it “warrants an opinion.” “If you’re silent on these issues, you’re almost complicit,” he added.
The BBC’s treatment of Lineker reflects a broader pattern of censoring voices and coverage that is critical of Israel—especially reporting on the genocide in Gaza. The BBC removed the documentary Gaza: How to Survive a War Zone from its iPlayer platform after revealing that its 13-year-old narrator was the son of a Hamas official. The film focused on the experiences of children under Israeli bombardment. Days later, the BBC delayed the scheduled broadcast of a second film, Gaza: Medics Under Fire, which documents Israeli attacks on Gaza’s hospitals and healthcare infrastructure.
British journalist @OwenJones84 investigated the anti-Palestinian bias at the heart of the BBC for Drop Site. His report is based on interviews with 13 current and former BBC staffers who allege that senior figures within the BBC’s news operation skewed stories in favor of Israel’s narratives and repeatedly dismissed objections registered by scores of staffers.

🚨Gaza Health Director: Israeli Forces Bombed Indonesian Hospital, Fired on Fleeing Patients
Dr. Muneer Alboursh, Director of Gaza’s Health Ministry, told Al-Jazeera that Israeli forces repeatedly attacked the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, northern Gaza—including opening fire on its intensive care unit and wounding one of the patients inside. Another man was killed by a drone strike near the hospital’s oxygen station. Hospital staff retrieved his body and buried him in the hospital garden. More details:
➤ Israeli helicopters surrounded the facility and opened fire to block patients from entering or leaving. Meanwhile, Israeli bulldozers demolished the hospital’s northern wall and bulldozed its front yard.
➤ The hospital, which serves 400,000 people in northern Gaza, has now been destroyed three times, Alboursh said. He accused Israel of seeking to collapse Gaza’s health system and terrorize its medical staff.
➤ Alboursh said 3,000 WHO aid trucks remain stuck in Egypt’s Al-Arish, awaiting permission to enter Gaza, while Israel “manipulates the media” by falsely claiming aid is being distributed.
➤ He condemned reported Israeli plans to ration food by caloric intake per person, declaring: “All their plans will fail in the face of our people’s steadfastness.”
Latest from the Ground:
Medical sources at the facility told Drop Site News that Israeli tanks laid siege to the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia for more than a day, surrounding it and opening fire on the building. The hospital’s main gate and yard were destroyed, electricity was cut, and crews inside were unable to move. Videos shared with Drop Site captured the sound of heavy gunfire near the facility.
Contact was lost with 55 people trapped inside, including four doctors, eight nurses, and dozens of immobile patients. Hospital sources said no evacuation orders were given and no warnings preceded the attack.
The siege came just hours after Israeli forces destroyed Awda Hospital in Tal Al-Zaatar and forced the shutdown of both the Kuwaiti Field Hospital and the European Hospital in Khan Younis. All hospitals in northern Gaza have now been put out of service.
Sources told Drop Site the Israeli forces appeared to be trying to intimidate those inside the hospital—likely to pressure an evacuation. After maneuvering around the facility, the tanks eventually withdrew. “Things are okay now,” a medical source said. “God willing, it’ll be a peaceful night for us.”

Israel’s renewed offensive on Gaza has killed many civilians over the weekend and targeted hospitals and medical staff - clear violations of international humanitarian law.
This must end.
We will urgently address the crisis with partners at the EHF tomorrow & Tuesday.
Enough. We demand rapid, safe, and unimpeded access to starving civilians in Gaza.
We have a plan. We have thousands of trucks of food at the border. Let us in. Let us work.
