With all the resources and professionals involved in a major production, cultural and historical research should never be treated as an insignificant detail. When concerns arise about the representation of Myanmar’s heritage, the least people deserve is a proper response. Yet we are still waiting for acknowledgment from the company.

Myanmar’s current political situation has absolutely nothing to do with whether Myanmar people have the right to speak about their cultural heritage.
People can struggle for peace, safety, and a better future while still caring about their history. These are not competing priorities.
Using a country’s suffering to mock its people for defending their culture is neither a relevant argument nor a respectful response.
Our struggles do not erase our history. Our circumstances do not make our heritage less valuable. And our voices do not become less worthy of being heard because our country is going through a crisis.
Please keep the discussion focused on cultural representation instead of using Myanmar’s situation against Myanmar people.

We are calling out @GMMTV @ScarletHeartTH failure to adequately address the concerns surrounding the use of Myanmar-inspired traditional attire in #ScarletHeartTH. To date, we are still waiting for an official explanation, appropriate cultural acknowledgment, and a meaningful response to the questions raised by Myanmar people.
A production company with such a broad platform has a responsibility to approach cultural heritage with respect and transparency. If Myanmar’s traditional clothing influenced these designs, the culture deserves proper credit. If the designs originate elsewhere, the production team should provide clear historical references to explain their inspiration.
GMMTV Must Address These Concerns and Be Accountable for Its Cultural Representation.
