🚨JUST IN: Police review video of officer punching teenage boy with handcuffs during Speke disorder.
• Merseyside Police is reviewing footage circulating on social media that appears to show an officer striking a youth with handcuffs while both are kneeling on the street in Speke
• Officers had been called to Alder Wood Avenue on Friday evening after multiple reports of anti-social behaviour involving about 20 youths
• The youths were reportedly blocking roads with wheelie bins, aiming fireworks at anyone trying to remove them, smashing windows of nearby flats, trying to start fires and threatening members of the public
• The force received a complaint about the officer’s actions on Saturday and its Professional Standards Department is now reviewing the matter

Two knuckleduster type hits to the chest and one very close to the throat. Where does it say in @merseypolice regulation or training manuals that regulation police handcuffs can be used as a metal knuckleduster against youths? Just as well there is ample bodycam footage to rapidly clear this up. And seemingly a lot more on individual phone cameras

Here is Number 10’s defence for flying to the Caribbean from London Stansted, and picking him up in Manchester…
PM's official spokesman: "Travel arrangements are made on security, operational requirements and value for money for the taxpayer and reflect where he was carrying out government work last week."
The PM was in Scotland on Friday and then worked in Number 10 North that evening.
Asked if it cost £20,000, the spokesman said there was no comment on speculative figures.
