The opposition to mass surveillance is national, bipartisan, red, blue, big city, small town. A number of elected officials are about to find out in November that this has become an election issue, and they're on the wrong side of history.

Cities keep canceling Flock contracts. Some then sign with a different vendor. New logo, same problem.

Bill Burr on Mass Surveillance:
"They have this level of surveillance on us, not because of what we're doing, but because of what they are about to do.
And they know the reaction that's going to happen.
They've never had an army big enough to stop a revolution, but if you know what everybody's talking about and where they are at all times, you can just put out all these little fires."

The Goshen police department made tens of thousands of searches of ALPR cameras and wrote "LMAO" into the field that asks why the searches were taking place. Other reasons for surveillance typed in by cops include "sexy" and "idk." Suggestion to Goshen PD: Vary it a bit and use "because we can" as reason next time.
