MEDIA STATEMENT: Mbalula and Malema summonses put on hold pending representations AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit can confirm it has received correspondence from a Gauteng Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions informing us that Fikile Mbalula was served with a summons to appear in court on 27 October 2026. However, this is being held in abeyance pending a review of the decision by the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Adv. Andy Mothibi. It has further come to our attention, although we have yet to receive written confirmation from the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA), that Julius Malema was also served with a summons to appear in court, but on 26 October 2026. Similarly, this is being held in abeyance pending the NDPP’s review of the decision to prosecute him. Mbalula and Malema faces charges of crimen injuria for falsely branding school principal Jaco Pieterse a child rapist. The NPA recently confirmed its decision to prosecute them. In relation to Mbalula, this development follows Gauteng DPP, Adv. Andrew Chauke, rejecting the suspect’s representations and informing his legal team that his office holds the view that a prima facie case exists against Mbalula and that the matter should be enrolled for adjudication before a competent court. Adv. Chauke further rejected the suspect’s baseless allegation that the case was politically motivated, informing his legal team that his office had thoroughly studied the criminal case docket and based its decision on legal principles and facts. He stated confidently that there was no political influence and/or motivation attached to the decision. AfriForum’s Private Prosecution Unit has full confidence in Adv. Chauke and applauds his steadfast position that Mbalula has a case to answer. The unit hopes that Adv. Mothibi will also see the suspect’s representations as merely a frivolous attempt to evade his inevitable day in court. The unit is also confident that Malema will also eventually have his day in court to answer for the false and vile claims made about Pieterse.

When they accuse residents of high water consumption. Meanwhile…
Replying to @CityTshwane
High consumption??? 90 million litres pissed down the road out of Garsfontein reservoir on Sunday morning, flooding Wekker road Kimiad area. Rand Water is punishing residents for high consumption when it's CoT's lack of maintenance and planning!!!! Deplorable failure by CoT.

The capital city’s CBD and surrounding areas water supply is contaminated. Residents are advised to boil it before consumption. This follows the collapse of the Bronkhorstspruit water treatment facility and a health crisis. There must be solutions at suburb-level scale for closed system water purification and reticulation, independent of municipal supply. Like solar, communities pool resources to setup their own water purification and treatment systems. Like everything else, private solutions are the future. Is it affordable? Can it be done? Is there something to learn from Israel?

Some people think I mean privatise the whole system. No, I’m thinking of tech solutions to allow suburb or area level closed reticulation. Like household solar, but “off-grid” water solution. A community pools resources and implements. I grew up in a mining village of about 400 households. The mine operated the relatively small scale water treatment and purification plant. My question is - are there tech solutions to “retrofit” something like that to existing infrastructure at suburb scale that is economically viable? Let the municipality have its failing systems.

Fighting from the confines of your car while shielding another person with your body at night against three attackers is perhaps the one of THE worst situations defensively you can be in. And yet he prevailed. He also had to clear at least two malfunctions/stoppages, which he did automatically and competently. His shooting was also accurate enough to neutralise all three attackers, who had the advantage of mobility and surprise. This man clearly trains with his defensive weapon, and is proficient with it.

Of all the things that have been hardest to communicate in my life, this seems the most impossible: that our civilisation is not, by some law of nature, immortal. It has no right or likelihood to continue existing if it insists on committing harakiri. The people who are welcomed onto our airwaves, work in parts of our government and lead some of our political parties include those who would burn down this country in a heart-beat. They would look us in the eyes and kill us. And we know that because they have done it elsewhere. They don't do it at the moment because the time is not right. But when they feel it is, they will act. At which point I suppose people will have to decide whether they wish to be spectators at their own funeral pyre or not. ✍️ Douglas Murray Article | spectator.com/article/france… | @DouglasKMurray
