We’ve had a great weekend celebrating a century of South Notts!
Preserved and associated South Notts buses travelled along the route yesterday including a visit to @GCRNottingham, with a special Open Day at @NHVCharity today.
Members of the founding Dabell family joined us yesterday, along with former South Notts colleagues and members of the @bartonsplc family, recognising their involvement in South Notts.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it all possible.
Here’s to the next 100 years 🎉

In the article at the link, local writer Matt Turpin shows us why Beeston in Nottinghamshire isn’t Nottingham’s shadow — it’s its spark ✨ A town that thrives on creativity, history, nature, art, and community pride. #Beeston #Notts. leftlion.co.uk/features/2026…

Actually, if you take the bridge and choo choo out, it's not really altered much...

What could link over the last 25 years or so, a "not quite Urban Regeneration Company" with a "not quite heritage charity" and some rather fortuitous ownership misunderstandings with some Charity properties, where the trustees are councillors?

The Labour Party has sent in an improvement team to oversee Nottingham City Council's ruling Labour Group.
It comes amid continued unease over the appointment of commissioners and how the council's leadership was chosen.

Unregistered children's homes are illegal, but councils are using them more than ever amid a shortage of placements.
I submitted an FOI to find out how much Nottm City Council spends on these homes:
£15 million in 3 years.
