Labour now briefing young people won't get the same minimum wage uplift. Even Starmer didn't break this pledge. Workers rights mean same rights, pay & conditions, same rate for the same job. What does this Labour government have against young people? inews.co.uk/news/politics/mi…

BREAKING: Yemen’s Houthis have reportedly struck Saudi Arabia’s largest oil refinery at Ras Tanura with a ballistic missile, triggering a fire at one of the Kingdom’s most critical oil export hubs, per Bloomberg. Ras Tanura is the cornerstone of Saudi oil exports, housing a refinery with a 550,000 barrel-per-day capacity and a terminal that handled over 5 million barrels daily before the war. With Yanbu on the Red Sea already hit, Saudi Arabia’s two main export arteries are now under fire. It comes as Riyadh reportedly offered Yemen’s Houthis $1 billion through Iran to halt attacks on the Kingdom, but the Houthis struck the kingdom's most vital terminal anyway.

Writing around NAZA to tell the story of the computation of the proportionality principle from targeted assassination through Eisenkot’s Dahia Doctrine and the three attacks on Gaza 2008/9, 2014, 2021 that built into the genocide.
Colonizers and enslavers have always developed and used technologies to calculate the evaluate the lives of the colonised. My review of NAZA and the inflation in Israeli Necro-Economics from the Al Aqsa intifada to the genocide. lrb.co.uk/the-paper/v48/n20/…

Day 23
I have joined Birmingham Labour colleagues in writing to the Council Leader. Green cabinet members must publicly disown their party’s “Zionism is Racism” motion. If they refuse, the power sharing agreement must end. Standing against racism requires leadership and action. 👇🏽

Hayek was a midwit snake-oil salesman of the first order. Put simply, the legally established negative liberty he champions permits the unequal ability of uncoerced individuals to achieve a very narrow and often unethically gained type of success in his ridiculously idealised 'market'. Then they monopolise market sectors and buy their way into power to exploit and coerce others. Result - the constant renewal and reproduction of the 1% revolving-door oligarchy. Tent cities getting bigger but GDP looks good and we've got AI! Hordes of unthinking wannabe strivers have been persuaded that this is the timeless moral and natural order of things.

"Goldsmiths management responded to the boycott by deducting 100% of pay. The union argued that amounted to a lockout. Since early June a group of UCU members at the south-east London university have been on indefinite strike." theguardian.com/education/20…

The most famous postwar British mathematician, was an Arab and the son of the secretary of the Arab League’s office in London (famous in his own right and known for Palestine advocacy). He won both the Fields Medal & the Abel Prize. You can guess why he never won the Wolf Prize.
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Novel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

This very immediate gaze peers out at us from 111 years ago. Photographed in colour in May 1915, this young lady is Miss Rose Chapuy, a pupil at a Domestic School in Nancy, France (and looking very much like the Swedish activist Greta Thunberg!). I have cleaned up this wonderful Autochrome portrait by Auguste Leon, which was taken using an early colour glass-plate process and isn't colourised.
