Personal update: today my time at @OilersNation comes to an end. Was my choice and it was very tough. I owe a lot to @zjlaing and @jsbmbaggedmilk who gave me a chance and guided me along the way. The people at ON are passionate about their craft and I’ll miss that. 1/2

Sometimes an evaluator (coach, scout or manager) falls in love with a player because of what they think the player could be due to a historical reference in their career. I’ve done it! I believe that is happening in Edmonton ATM. Good news. 8-2-1. Lots of time to re-assess.

The Condors have given up 10 PP goals in 6 games. The two Fs who have the most GAs are D’Amato and Robertson at 5 each. The best PK forward the team has is William Nicholl. On for 1 GA. He is starting to get bigger PK minutes. He also has been on for 0 GA at EVS. Play him.

The current success of the Oilers PK seems to be infecting their minor league brothers in Bakersfield. Eek.

This Oiler team isn’t as good as its record says and it’s certainly not as bad as some suggest looking at the underlying metrics. It’s an undefined team that will become clear only if/when it is fully healthy. On the bright side 8-1-1 gives a lot of cushion to be patient.

If you’re wondering if there were any effects of Minny playing their top 5 guys a billion minutes on Tuesday, check the scoreboard.

There are questions about 93 at 2C but when his wingers just fly the Dzone together without any regard for where the puck is, he’s not going to have much of a chance to succeed.

I would very much like to see a completed pass at 5v5 in this game. By either team.

I don’t understand why people are disappointed with Isaac Howard. I’m very happy with his development YTD.

The mistake by Hughes last night in overtime is the exact type of mistake the Oilers top players have made in the past when playing too many mins. The Wild top unit played the bulk of the third period trying to even the score. Tired bodies lead to mistakes.

The return on 93 and then 16 would be helpful sooner rather than later. I thought collectively the top 2 lines were very pedestrian and not very engaged in any of the 3 zones at 5v5. This was a Minny D ripe to be attacked. Levi and Bouchard saved the day.

That entry by Bouchard was ridiculous. My word.

Generally speaking it’s a good idea for one of the low F or the off-puck D to cover the net front. Just one. Don’t need two. But one for sure.

For those interested, I would watch Chloe Primerano. She's going to be the next superstar in women's hockey.
