“I was released today after about four and a half months of detention.” Dr. Mazen al-Rantisi, a 71-year-old physician from Ramallah known across the West Bank as “the doctor of the poor,” speaks with a fresh wound on his face, inflicted half an hour before his release on October 25, 2026. He says a jailer dragged him to the release room handcuffed behind his back, shackled at the legs and blindfolded, then shoved and kicked him to the ground. Israeli occupation forces seized al-Rantisi from his home in the al-Tireh neighbourhood of Ramallah in June without announcing any reason, and his daughter says he lost around 25 kilograms in their prisons.
He describes Nafha prison as overrun with scabies, affecting nearly 80 percent of the Palestinian hostages held there, with almost no medicine given. When prisoners beg the passing nurse for treatment, he says, they are cursed at, mocked and ridiculed, and he was taunted for taking the chronic medication a court had ordered he receive. He calls on international human rights organisations to intervene, saying Palestinian hostages are beaten and punished at the whim of their jailers with no oversight or accountability.

“This country is our country, the land is ours, and we’re coming back.” An elderly Palestinian woman says this to Israeli occupation soldiers who barred her from picking olives on her own land in Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah, in a video circulating widely this week. Her village has been under constant attack since the olive harvest began.
On October 16, Israeli colonial terrorists lay in wait for farmers in the groves and set their cars on fire. Three days later, more than a dozen masked colonists stoned and smashed Hanan Hamayel’s home, burned her family’s car, and beat Mohammed Abu Kouk, a resident who holds US citizenship, on the head. Meanwhile, occupation soldiers have repeatedly blocked roads and forced farmers off their land, while colonists sat in the same groves.
The Israeli rights group Yesh Din has recorded 672 colonist attacks across the West Bank in the harvest’s first month, almost a quarter of them carried out with the occupation army present or taking part. Turmus Ayya, home to a large Palestinian-American community, has lost most of its land to the colonies built around it.

⛔️A new report to the UN General Assembly, released October 26, finds that Israel committed the crimes against humanity of extermination, persecution, torture, rape and other sexual violence, and intentionally targeted Palestinian civilians.
In the West Bank, the Commission describes a "widespread and systematic attack" on civilians through military operations and settler violence since October 7, 2023. Airstrikes there killed 6 Palestinians between 2008 and October 2023, compared with 254 between October 7, 2023 and September 30, 2026. As of August 2026, 34,176 Palestinians were still displaced, the largest displacement there since 1967.
⛔️In Gaza, the report says Israeli forces have kept committing genocidal acts even after the ceasefire, including killing civilians who approach the "Yellow Line."
