Next.js is the new Gatsby, and Remix is the new Next.js. Gatsby had many opinions and, thus, limitations. People shifted from Gatsby to Next.js for its hybrid approach and straightforward API. Remember when Gatsby Cloud was essentially the only hosting option for large Gatsby projects? Well, what is the preferred hosting for Next.js now? As Next.js has developed its own set of opinions and limitations, Remix is emerging as a simpler alternative.

Just signed up to @basehub_ai and have been wondering how they made the app feel so smooth. It turns out they use Next.js App Router, but it's not RSC that makes it fast—it's the @replicache integration.

Cloud hosting comes in two main flavors: 2. Pay for Usage: This is for companies with their own hardware. It's simple: the more you use, the more you pay. 2. Pay for Experience: Aimed at companies without their own hardware, this focuses on great user and developer experiences (UX & DX). It's not about the hardware; it's about how easy and pleasant it is to use the service. All the big cloud names offer pay-as-you-go services to deploy apps. Think Cloudflare Pages, AWS Amplify, Azure Static Web Apps, and Digital Ocean App Platform. Some look great, others not so much, but they all use their own hardware. Then there's a middle option like @Flightcontrolhq. They charge a set fee for a better experience plus whatever you spend on AWS. It's a fair deal: pay for ease of use plus your actual usage. Tools like @SST_dev or @dokku are different. They help you deploy directly to the Cloud and focus on making things easier for developers. They're often free and open-source, making money from extra services. They don’t own hardware; they make the complex cloud simpler to use. Finally, there are services like Vercel or Netlify. They're all about top-notch UX and DX. Deploying apps is super easy with them. They offer more than just deployment: collaboration features, previews, comments, a nice analytics dashboard, and so on. They don’t have their own infrastructure, and sometimes they act as if they do, but really, they're selling an experience.

Great read from Joas on @bejamas_io blog. In this guide, you will learn about LLM architectures, the fine-tuning process, and how you can fine-tune your own pre-trained model for NLP tasks.
Excited to share that I published an LLM fine-tuning guide on the Bejamas blog! The article shows how to adapt LLMs for custom NLP uses, and I explain key techniques in a simple way with code. Read it here: bejamas.io/blog/fine-tuning-…
