Agree 100%. We really need to voice that, otherwise we will be doomed. It's hard to believe it and people don't believe it, but it's really happening.
Congrats @sgrove on launching @linzumi_ai! Looking forward to chatting with/controlling my agents from this!
Bring your whole team and dozens of AI coding agents into the same chat threads, then let @linzumi_ai keep the fleet coordinated and unblocked.
And for a limited time, try state of the art open-weights intelligence free: GLM 5.2 at high speed, via their @wafer_ai partnership. → linzumi.com

🫡 @aiDotEngineer in London was extremely good. Absolutely incredible speaker line up, great curation, escaped the Silicon Valley bubble masturbation. Would go again.

And that's a wrap! AI Engineer Europe 2026 has concluded.
Our video crew did incredible work to capture the energy, enthusiasm, and positivity of this event -- but it still doesn't come close to being there.
If you're engineering the future of AI -- we hope to see you at a future event!
Thank you London -- thank you Europe!

Another fantastic @aiDotEngineer in the books! Just telling @Benghamine the thing I love most is how these events let me “see around corners” – what we talk about here everyone in the industry will be talking about in 3-6mo.
Your timeline is filled with unserious people using serious tools.
Just wait. Time will reveal their true power.
thanks to @edwinarbus kindly giving me access I was able to try this out:
literally just dropped the below tweet into @cursor_ai cloud, expecting this to not work because its a pretty hard task.
CURSOR AGENT JUST ONESHOTTED reconstructing Rachel's website FROM JUST A VIDEO (!!!) working autonomously for 43 minutes.
i'm sure theres a lot of design details that it missed. but god damn this is a fantastic starting point for just dropping in a tweet without any further instruction
the below video on the right is THE ONESHOTTED CLONE not her real site. they even did the RachelLLM sidebar and demoed that it works...
first the humans help models hillclimb benchmarks
now the models help humans hillclimb benchmarks
We’re launching full-length, on demand practice exams for standardized tests in @GeminiApp, starting with the SAT, available now at no cost.
Practice SATs are grounded in rigorously vetted content in partnership with @ThePrincetonRev, and Gemini will provide immediate feedback highlighting where you excelled and where you might need to study more.
To try it out, tell Gemini, “I want to take a practice SAT test.”

1/ One productivity question stuck in my head: when AI can draft, explain, and propose solutions on demand (across a huge terrain!), what still has to live in your head for that to turn into real work, rather than a pile of plausible slop?
The time capsule of Kitze Americana alone is worth the time of this talk from @thekitze
But stay for the gems of wisdom -- & amidst great entertainment.
Such a fun talk to head into lunch (intentional -- good choice @swyx)

Once, the sound was gated kingdoms,
walled by gear and scripted fate,
golden towers of chosen prophets
singing for the market-state.
But beneath the polished idols,
something older shakes the frame;
all the nameless, all the voiceless
feel a spark and speak their name.

Big thanks to @Benghamine and @swyx.
Such a high-signal event with amazing people everywhere.
Highly recommended if you care about your craft and want to take things to the next level.
Special mentions:
loved to here the @turbopuffer story. What they're doing in such a small time is outstanding.
@comet were doing cool demos. I'm using Opik often and it was fun to chat with there team.
I recommend the book by @Steve_Yegge & @RealGeneKim.

what an incredible year for @aidotengineer. 3 conferences, 7.5m views, and hundreds of jobs/ideas shared. Could not have done without @benghamine, @liamcbride, and the rest of our Tiny Team.
special thanks to @businessbarista and @jedborovik for stepping up as the AIE CODE emcees!! Having track hosts and emcees from the community is what makes AIE a true industry conference, by AI Engineers for AI Engineers. Googlers introducing Anthropics, Consultants introducing competitors.
Everyone just wants to win on merit and hire/market/ learn/take the pulse of the industry. I hope to always keep it that way.

State of AI coding ⬇️
Two days at the @aiDotEngineer Code Summit in NYC felt less like a conference and more like a working prototype of 2026. And 2026: The Year the IDE Died.
That was literally the title of @Steve_Yegge and @RealGeneKim's talk. So what has actually changed in AI coding?
▪️ 1. From "The Diver" to "The Ant Swarm"
We’ve hit the limits of the “bigger context window” dream.
Steve Yegge’s “diver with an oxygen tank” metaphor nails it: even with a million tokens, the LLM-diver still runs out of air and slides into “nitrogen narcosis,” hallucinating and losing the thread.
@dex_horthy calls this the “Dumb Zone,” the middle 40–60% of huge windows where reasoning collapses.
"God Model" approach is dead. The future is an ant swarm. ⬇️
▪️ 2. Context Engineering (the discipline everyone now practices)
The winning pattern is now a factory of tiny specialists:
- Planner Ant
- Research Ant
- Coder Ant
- Tester Ant
Each ant sees only what it needs. No pollution, no confusion, no Dumb Zone.
Your job becomes Architecting the Ant Farm and keep the new canonical flow - RPI Loop: Research → Plan → Implement
▪️ 3. Proactive Swarms unlock true parallelism
Agents will work while you sleep, updating deps, fixing breaks, and leaving verified PRs. You become the Orchestrator, defining constraints as dozens of agents run concurrently – a 100x leverage shift from typing to directing.
▪️ 4. Verification as the real moat
@EnoReyes said: “Many tasks are easier to verify than to solve,” and @mkanat framed the enterprise challenge: “We spend more time reading code than writing it, and even more so now.”
Models still lack verification context. The next decade of agentic infrastructure will be built around systems that can prove their own correctness.
🔹 5. Artifacts replace chat:
The interface is shifting to living artifacts – diagrams, plans, and visual diffs – that evolve as agents work.
---
If the last decade was about humans typing into buffers, the next one is about a new set of physics autonomous workers operating inside verification chains. The ant swarm is already here.
But the thing is: missing context, flaky tests, and tangled dependencies turn AI into a chaos multiplier. Clean environments and engineers who can think like orchestrators and collaborate with swarms will accelerate the best.
