I’ve been hesitant about crypto, but like everyone who has been on the pointy end of a SEVere incident, I know that days like today at #coinbase are rough on everyone involved. Look for the helpers. Looking forward to the incident retrospective report. More importantly, #hug_ops

I have finally found a good use for ChatGPT: I’m asking it to make up Pokemons named after the name of data tech. That way, @fishnets88 can’t mess up with me. OOTL: youtu.be/0hR4peP9V4A?si=CBeb…

So about a year ago, I was putting my little guy to bed in his crib and I noticed a strange detail on the solar system poster up on his wall …

Sometimes, when you use customer quotes in marketing, you have to massage them a bit.
When your AI features are so good you need to dust off the bleep machine 🤬

It was a BIG night tonight, the launch of London Cycling’s report, “What stops women cycling?” 1000 women were surveyed about the abuse they face on bikes in the capital, and the results are astounding. 9 out of 10 women have faced aggression or abuse on the road. 🧵 1/14

We've just launched a new careers page. Our goal is to build a small, high-quality and super fast-moving team. So this area is really important to us. plain.com/careers We had a lot of fun making this and went beyond the average careers page – below my favourite details 🧵👇

My new kettle came with an instruction manual. I’m not sure what that says about us.

Are there any public examples of tiered documentation? By "tiered documentation" I mean having one set of documentation for human users and having another set of documentation specifically for LLM training.

I’m curious if people with asymmetric or very distinct features will become a way to guarantee images are not computer generated.

I was one of the many economists whose lives Bob Solow influenced. He encouraged me to write my very first paper as a PhD student, “The productivity paradox of IT” and gave me helpful advice along the way. Rest in peace.
RIP. Bob Solow an absolute giant in Economics, has passed away at age 99. Tremendously influential in the profession and one of the key founders of the MIT Economics department as we live it today. Will be sorely missed.

IMO, one of the killer apps for LLMs is going to be understanding what’s happening in complex bureaucracies like large companies and governments. These are very inherently information constrained environments, but also have abundant documentation. Sorting out privacy will be key.
