Yesterday, I received the leadership of the Osun Development Association (ODA), led by its Chairman, Dr. Segun Aina, for a very important and productive discussion on accelerating the industrial and socio-economic development of our dear state.
We discussed several areas of collaboration, including the proposed Osun State Social and Economic Advisory Council, an industrial development bank, investment mobilisation, industrial park development, and stronger interventions in education and healthcare.
I welcomed these proposals and assured the ODA of our administration’s readiness to explore practical ways of activating them for the benefit of our people.
I call on successful sons and daughters of Osun to invest back home and join us in building a stronger, more industrialised and prosperous state. This partnership is important. Together, we will continue to accelerate development and deliver good governance for the people of Osun.

Governor Adeleke Commiserates With Flood Victims
● Directs Environmental Task Force to Visit Affected Areas
OSOGBO - 30/09/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has commiserated with residents and families affected by the recent flooding in parts of the state, asking residents to stop building and dumping refuse on waterways.
The governor expressed concern over the impact of the flooding on homes, businesses and livelihoods, noting that Osun has experienced excessive rainfall in recent weeks, putting additional pressure on drainage channels and waterways across the state.
The Governor directed the Special Task Force on Environmental Sanitation led by Elder Ayanleye Aina to visit affected areas and assess environmental conditions contributing to the flooding, saying, "I have directed the Special to visit affected areas and prepare a response plan for the administration.
Governor Adeleke recalled that his administration had undertaken initial dredging and drainage interventions to improve water flow and reduce flooding, assuring residents that the government will take further actions and interventions where necessary to reduce the impact of flooding on our people.
He stressed the need for community responsibility, warning that government interventions cannot achieve the desired results if waterways are obstructed by human activities.
“I urge my people, the residents of Osun State, to stop dumping refuse on waterways, roadside and desist from building on natural water channels as well as flood-prone corridors,” Governor Adeleke said.
He urged residents to report blocked drainages, flooding incidents and other environmental hazards to the appropriate authorities.
His Excellency assured affected residents that the state government will continue to respond to the situation and take additional measures to protect lives, property and communities across Osun State.

I had no electoral deal or partnership with the ADC before, during, or after the governorship election.
The credit for our victory goes to God Almighty and the good people of Osun State for their overwhelming support and re-election.
For the sake of history, it is important to clarify that the ADC was never part of the rainbow coalition that canvassed, mobilised, and supported our campaign in the battle leading to last Saturday’s election.
I commend all our political partners who sacrificed, worked tirelessly, and went all out to make Saturday a victory day for all Osun people. Their commitment and support were instrumental to our success.
Now that the election is over, I remain the Governor of all Osun people, irrespective of political affiliation, religion, or tribe. My commitment is to unite our people and continue working for the progress and prosperity of Osun State.

I am deeply humbled and grateful to God and the good people of Osun State for the confidence reposed in me to serve for another term.
This victory belongs to the people. I commend your resilience, your courage and your unwavering commitment to democracy. I will not disappoint you.
As we turn the page on the election, I appeal to all Osun people to embrace peace, forgiveness and unity. There is no victor, no vanquished. I extend the olive branch to all my co-contestants. I am the Governor of all.
I also remember, with a minute of silence, the victims of the needless pre-election violence. May their souls rest in peace. I urge our traditional rulers, community leaders and all stakeholders to lead the healing and reconciliation process across our communities.
To the people of Osun, you have entrusted me with another four years. I will reinforce our strong points, correct our shortcomings and build on the progress we have made.
Osun is on the march again. We will accelerate development, widen the net of good governance and continue our journey to transform Osun from a civil service state into an industrial state and a preferred investment destination.
I thank Mr President, His Excellency Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for his support for a free and fair election. I also appreciate all lovers of democracy, at home and abroad, and especially the media for standing firmly with democracy.

The Ataoja of Osogbo, one of Nigeria’s most revered Royal Fathers, said he was shot at by APC thugs inside his own palace. His subjects were struck by live bullets. Kabiyesi himself was the target.
Why? Because he stood with his people. Because he chose good governance over thuggery. And yet Kabiyesi stood tall and declared: “Osogbo will stand for Imole.”
To the National Secretary of the APC, Ajibola Bashiru (@DrSRJ_), a bonafide son of Osogbo: Look your party men in the eye and demand answers. Why did they send thugs to your father’s palace? Why did they desecrate the throne that raised you?
Your party did this. Your Royal Father was the target. Your Osogbo is bleeding. Silence is a choice. Make yours wisely.
An attack on the Ataoja is an attack on every son and daughter of Osogbo. An attack on Osogbo is an attack on every citizen of Osun State. And we will not forget.
You cannot intimidate us. You cannot silence our Royal Fathers. You cannot shoot your way to power in Osun State.
Enough is enough. I call on the Inspector General of Police to act urgently. Desperate politicians must be exposed and disgraced.

Days after launching Violent Crime Response Unit, the same officers of @NPF_Osun_State are seen in this video shooting sporadically, creating violence.
It's not a robbery scene, they are not fighting bandits, they went to arrest young boys playing street football. Shooting started because people were asking them questions.
Assuming without conceding that any of the boys have committed whatever offence they may intend to effect an arrest for, is this the manner that the men paid to protect our lives and properties would carry out their job creating fear all around town.
This happened today in Baruwa Street, Osogbo.

TEXT OF A PRESS CONFERENCE BY THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE
IMOLE CAMPAIGN COUNCIL (TICC), SENATOR AKOGUN KAMORUDEEN
OLALERE OYEWUMI, Ph.D.
TODAY, SUNDAY, 10TH MAY, 2026, AT THE IMOLE MEDIA CENTER, GRA,
OSOGBO.
Distinguished members of the press,
Leaders and members of the Imole Campaign Council.
Ladies and gentlemen,
1. It is with immense pleasure and deep appreciation that I welcome you all
to this maiden press conference of the Imole Campaign Council which is
taking place at the formal opening of the Imole Media Center, which will
serve as the nerve center for the dissemination of activities and
communication of the Imole Campaign Council ahead of the August 15,
2026 governorship election in Osun State.
2. Before I proceed, let me respectfully ask that we observe a minute of
silence in honour of one of my constituents, Kolade Eluyera, who was
gruesomely murdered yesterday in Ikire, Irewole Local Government by
thugs linked to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
3. Permit me to sincerely thank the good people of Osun State for their
prayers, cooperation, and support for our Governor, His Excellency, Sen.
Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke since his assumption of office on
November 27, 2022.
4. I equally wish to thank you gentlemen of the press for your immense
support and collaboration for this government so far.
5. Democracy thrives when the media remains vibrant, courageous, fair,
and responsible. We acknowledge your critical role in deepening
democratic values and sustaining constructive engagement between government and the governed. For your dedication to truth and service to society, we say thank you.
6. As the revered Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama, once said: “The
roots of all goodness lie in the soil of appreciation for goodness.” Indeed,
the support that this government has enjoyed from the good people of Osun, including critical sectors like the media, has become a fertile soil upon which this administration continues to nurture progress, development, and prosperity.
7. Today, we open this Media Center as a strategic platform to house,
coordinate, and disseminate the activities of the Imole Campaign Council
under the supervision of the Media and Publicity Committee headed by
Representative Bamidele Salam.
8. Our media strategy in this campaign revolves round facts, truth, respectful communication and engagement, as well as extensive promotion of the undeniable achievement of our candidate, Sen. Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke, since his assumption of office as Governor of

As an incumbent government which has clearly justified the mandate of
the people, we are focused on seeking renewed support from the people
of Osun State for the consolidation of the unprecedented gains of good governance which Governor Ademola Adeleke has brought to our dear state.
10. It is important to remind the electorates of the terrible mess which the immediate past administration on which the APC candidate, Mr. Bola Oyebamiji served as Commissioner of Finance, left our dear State and which Governor Ademola Adeleke has substantially cleared. We are happy to report that our government has reduced domestic debt profile
of the state from N148 billion in December 2022 to N83.32 billion by the first quarter of 2025 and external debt from $91.78 million in 2022 and $75.14 million, representing a 43.84 percent and 18.13 percent reduction
respectively. Similarly, the internally-generated revenue of N24.47 billion in 2022 has been increased to N58.7 billion in 2025 representing
a 139.89 percent jump and indicated a clean bill of health for the state's finances. The government has also ensured harmonization and digitalization of revenue collection to streamline the tax structure and reduce human

This initiative, long abandoned, has now been revived to provide sustainable support for modern security infrastructure, including surveillance systems, operational tools, and enhanced logistics for our security agencies.
To demonstrate our resolve, the Osun State Government is committing ₦300 million, while Dr. Deji Adeleke has generously donated ₦500 million, alongside contributions from the private sector. I assure all partners of transparency and accountability as we work together to strengthen security across our state. APPRECIATION POST
I commend Gov. @AAdeleke_01 for taking a bold and commendable step in establishing a structured approach to climate change governance in Osun State. This effort reflects a strong commitment to sustainable development, environmental protection, and the well-being of citizens, positioning the state as a forward-looking leader in climate action. I also congratulate Osun State for achieving 6th position in the national climate change ranking, a milestone that highlights the impact of these deliberate efforts.
This progress is both encouraging and inspiring, but it also presents an opportunity to do even more. Strengthening collaboration across the entire climate value chain—from government institutions and local communities to private sector actors and development partners—will be critical in deepening impact and ensuring that climate solutions are inclusive, scalable, and sustainable. Expanding investments in climate resilience, green jobs, and community-driven initiatives will further solidify Osun State’s leadership in this space.
As the climate crisis continues to evolve, I urge the state government to build on this momentum by fostering stronger partnerships, enhancing policy implementation, and prioritising resilience at all levels. With sustained commitment and inclusive collaboration, Osun State can set a national benchmark for climate governance and create a more resilient and sustainable future for all its people.

Blackout: Governor Adeleke Summons IBEDC, Reassures Rainstorm Victims of Emergency Support
OSOGBO- 02/04/2026 - Osunstate.gov.ng
Governor Ademola Adeleke has summoned the management of Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBRDC) over persistent blackout at Osogbo and other major towns in the state, describing the situation as “unbearable for residents”
In a statement issued today Thursday, the governor lamented that field reports confirmed the worsening power supply and the negative effects on businesses and residents, affirming that the IBEDC needs to explain the challenges with a view to finding a lasting solution.
“I have received widespread complaints from all our major towns. Businesses are grinding to a halt. We cannot continue like this. I am inviting the management of the IBEDC for brainstorming to find a way out.
“As much as we know that the power sector is capital intensive and despite the fact that the matter is a national challenge, Osun is suffering a lot. We must work together with IBEDC for a short term solution.
“As a government, the medium and long term solution is to diversify sources of energy supply. Renewable energy is a sustainable alternative but it must be affordable. Our government is working hard to support the renewable energy sector.
“Our state now has the Osun Electricity law. Before long, we are setting up the Osun Electricity Regulatory Commission to licence power generating companies and regulate the power market system. This will open up the state energy sector and also protect the best interest of IBEDC customers.
“While that is ongoing, we must interrogate the IBEDC for immediate solutions. The Commissioner for Energy is to organise the consultation as quickly as possible. We will also invite consumer advocacy groups for the meeting”, the governor noted.
On the support for rainstorm victims, the governor said the state emergency agency is already compiling names and details of victims, adding that the agency has been directed to ensure that all victims are captured in the data compilation.
Governor Adeleke said victims are also encouraged to submit their details at the emergency agency office, promising that the state government is working on local and national support for the victims.
He disclosed that contacts have been established with the Federal Emergency Management Agency as well as the National Economic Council (NEC) to rally support for the victims, commending the Osun West Sentor, Lere Oyewumi for raising the unfortunate incident on the floor of the Senate.
