My complicated latest on how Israel's dangerous impunity in the West Bank resembles Trump's dangerous impunity playing fast and loose with troops on U.S. soil realcontextnews.com/trump-ta…
Meanwhile, reality.
Five million Palestinians living under Israeli occupation cannot vote in today’s Israeli elections. Yet the government those elections produce will wield power over their lives—and they will bear the horrific consequences of its decisions without any voice in choosing it.
This is the reality of 🇮🇱 apartheid: 59 years of 🇮🇱 military occupation, absolute power without accountability, without freedom, without justice or basic rights.
5 million Palestinians are denied a voice in their own future.

Glad jurors have common sense, unlike the people running the DOJ doing Trump’s bidding.
ya had ONE JOB Israel
With 31.3% of the votes in, this is where things currently stand. The Likud is close to total victory with 29 seats and a 59-seat bloc. Its totals will fall because its bastions are overrepresented in the counted ballots. Based on the current numbers, and after running the regression several times, the likely projection is: Netanyahu’s bloc 53, the opposition 48, and the Arab parties 19. Likud finishes as the largest party with about 28 seats. Not enough for an out and out victory but enough to put Netanyahu in the drivers seat.

I remember in the 1996 Peres vs Netanyahu election going to bed thinking Peres had won waking up to a Netanyahu victory. Likud has indeed lost ground and doesn’t have the mandates to cross 60 plus 1. But it’s clear fat lady hasn’t sung - yet.

Palestinian citizens of Israel are expected to turn up in massive numbers to vote on Tuesday, in the first general elections in 2022.

I hope I live to see:
The downfall of the Islamic Republic.
The downfall of Trump and his cronies.
The downfall of Netanyahu and his cronies.
The far right and far left factions of my community that have put a stick in the bike wheels of every uprising in Iran, relegated to the outskirts of discourse.

Diplomacy isn’t a real estate deal, so why are we sending Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to negotiate with Putin?
These two jackasses are too busy complimenting a dictator instead of standing up for America and our allies.

So Lana Nusseibeh is running purely off the back of her experience as UAE ambassador to the UN but repeatedly refuses to answer questions regarding her statements or actions regarding Sudan while she was Ambassador; just utterly ridiculous.
🇦🇪 NEW: Asked whether she would continue rejecting UN findings on the UAE’s role in fueling Sudan’s war if chosen to lead the United Nations, Lana Nusseibeh said questions about the UAE should be directed elsewhere.
During a UN town hall on Tuesday, Yona Diamond of the Raoul Wallenberg Centre for Human Rights, confronted Nusseibeh over her repeated denials of UAE weapons and support to Sudan’s Rapid Support Forces (RSF), asking how she could lead an organization whose own findings she has rejected.
Nusseibeh, UAE’s Minister of State, responded that she had taken leave from her position as a UAE minister and declared: “I refer any questions about the UAE to the UAE representation.”
She then spent more than a minute outlining her commitment to ending Sudan’s war, calling it the “litmus test” for the next UN chief, without addressing her past denials or whether she accepted the UN’s findings.

At Nusseibeh's town hall @yonahdiamond asks a *very* pointed question about the UAE's complicity in Sudan
She answers that she no longer works for the UAE gov, so those questions should be directed there. She stresses that ending the Sudan war would be a top priority.
