Sometimes, one person refusing to give up on a child can change the entire direction of that child’s life.
Pratik Mukhiya, a Class 3 student in Mumbai, struggled with school after a devastating fire took his father’s life. Through Adani Foundation’s Project Utthan, Utthan Sahayak Bhurabai Choure focused first on trust and confidence, helping Pratik reconnect with friends, studies and childhood.
His story reflects a programme launched in 2018 with 17 schools that has expanded to over 1,200 schools and approximately 1.8 lakh students across five states. In Mumbai, the initiative supports over 1.40 lakh children in 947 municipal schools.
Reading outcomes also show progress between September 2025 and March 2026. Reported Level 5 results across Classes 1 to 4 moved from 15% to 21% to 25% to 32%. Behind these numbers are children whose potential deserves to be recognised.
