Louis Napoleon often gets treated like a kind of Temu Napoleon Bonaparte.
But he had some pretty cool achievements.
Doubled the size of the French colonial empire.
Made the British genuinely afraid of invasion.
Modernised French industry and agriculture.
Helped win Crimean War against Russia.
Helped win the Italian Wars of Unification against Austria.
Protected the Pope from annexation by the secular Italian state.
Huge building projects in Paris.
His biggest failure was probably conquering and then losing Mexico.
Battle Action #147 (1977–1981). British war comics were grittier, morally complex, and hugely influential. Still sharp. #WarComics #VintageComics #WWII
