The only thing that would sway my vote this election is six text messages from an unidentified number during my work day.
I like Josh Hoover, but if I’m Indiana, Wilson isn’t coming off the field. This throw and the back shoulder to Becker to get into field goal range are the touch passes Indiana has been missing consistently down field this year. Wilson throws a pretty ball

There's been plenty of talk lately from rival fan bases dismissing Indiana's football success as too recent and its support as too shallow. I'm approaching 20 consecutive years as a football season-ticket holder, not counting my years as a student. I've seen plenty of lean seasons, sparse crowds, and disappointing Saturdays. So I couldn't be happier to see Memorial Stadium packed.
But those critics miss something important about Indiana. Few universities can match IU's athletic tradition. Five national championships in men's basketball, eight in men's soccer, and a swimming and diving dynasty that won six straight national titles speak for themselves. And the passion for Indiana basketball rivals the devotion of any fan base in any sport. That love stretches back more than a century, passed from one generation to the next.
The point is that Hoosier loyalty has never been confined to one sport. It's an allegiance to the university, its history, and everything it represents. That kind of loyalty doesn't need to be invented when a football team starts winning. It simply finds another place to flourish.
Indiana's football success may be new, but Hoosier pride is anything but. And after all those years of waiting, it's a joy to share it with a full stadium. #iufb

For a long time I would come home from a really horrible job and watch Picard solve all his problems by reasoning them out and talking to people.
I am struck by the realization that what the character of Picard says here turns out to be quite literally true

Minnesota kicking a 60 yarder with 19 seconds left and Indiana immediately doing the same is the football version of someone saying "I'll pay" at dinner and the other guy grabbing the check out of your hand anyway

How rare was what happened at the end of Indiana–Minnesota?
Before that game, there had never been an NCAA or NFL game in which both teams made a field goal of 60 yards or longer in the final 30 seconds of regulation.
First time in the history of the sport of football.

Yes. This is a big part of why TNG has broad appeal: the progressivism is tempered by a conservative emphasis on duty, the chain of command, respect for the law etc. A very 80s / early 90s combination.

Wait, some of y’all are really trying to talk about Deshaun Watson as Comeback Player of the Year?
When the thing you’re “coming back” from is your own terrible behavior, that should disqualify you.

I know I’m beating a dead horse here but I cannot wait until ESPN gets off the Pat McAfee train. Just an unbearably not entertaining loser these days.

We don’t need AI, what we need is the ability to turn a PDF back into a word doc without the formatting looking like it survived a plane crash.

I know I’m biased on this, but Indiana’s gotta be number one, right? That’s a banger flag

Jon Gruden: “Tight Ends shouldn’t wear single digit numbers man. It’s downright soft. Imagine Rob Gronkowski wearing number 2? Tell you who looked good in number 2 was Derek Jeter. That was a cool guy man. Pull up the first pitch George Bush threw at the World Series.”
