An 99 year old British gentleman arrived in Paris.
As he was fumbling in his bag for his passport a stern French lady asked if he had been to France before and he admitted he had indeed been previously.
The lady scarcastially said then you should know to have your passport out and waiting sir. The gentleman said I didn't have to show it last time.
Impossible! The woman said, you British have always had to show your passports to get through here!
The man responded by saying , well, when I came ashore on
the beach on D Day in 1944, I couldn't find any f**king Frenchmen to show it to!
Wear your poppy with pride!
💙 Remembering Kenneth Robert Howorth GM
On 26 October 1981, Kenneth Howorth, a 49-year-old Metropolitan Police explosives officer, lost his life trying to make Oxford Street safe.
After warnings of bombs planted in central London, Kenneth entered a Wimpy restaurant to deal with an explosive device. It detonated as he attempted to defuse it.
He was killed doing a job that demanded extraordinary courage, putting himself in danger to protect others.
He was posthumously awarded the George Medal for gallantry.
Today, 45 years later, we remember Kenneth. His courage, his service and the family who lost him.
His duty is done. His sacrifice must never be forgotten.
Rest in peace, Kenneth. 💙

Remembering PC Kulwant Singh Sidhu, who died on 25 October 1999, aged just 24.
He was pursuing suspected burglars in Twickenham when he fell through the roof of a workshop.
Just 24 years old. Someone’s son, a colleague and a young man who went to work doing his job and never came home.
It’s easy to forget the people behind the uniform. They have families, friends and people who love them. And when they don’t come home, those people are left with a lifetime of missing them.
So today, I’m remembering PC Sidhu. ❤️
Gone, but not forgotten.

Rachel Reeves is believed to have had meetings with city firms hoping to ‘cash in’ on her time as Chancellor.
It really is one rule for them and one for us. Had anyone of us failed at their jobs so spectacularly, just how would we be able to use it as a leg up to a top job?
We’d be on the scrap heap as failures.
But, no, not them. They use their failures as springboards😡
This is our reminder for changing our clocks we get from our local takeaway owner. He’s a lovely guy ❤️
