Yeah, there will be no pivot to the center. This is what you get when you have an 80-year-old president who doesn't really gaf about the future of the Republican Party.

The GOP desperately needs to rebrand to be competitive by 2028 but the president and his loyalists will not want that to happen. Infighting seems inevitable, the question is whether the party can be reformed.
No time for infighting, 2028 started yesterday.

This was one of the replies to @votewarren post. Unless there is some kind of groundswell of conservative pushback against the MAGA crowd, there will be hardly any opposition party left to challenge the Dems in '28 and beyond. xitter.gq/KariLake/status/211857…

Warren, we MUST inspect this election. The numbers make NO sense in AZ, Texas, Kansas, Mississippi and many other places. We can’t keep ignoring this election fraud or we will lose our republic. Don’t you agree??

Nobody is attacking conservatives. They are attacking populist-nationalists who allowed the GOP to become a big government cult of personality.
It’s brainlessly easy to attack other conservatives today. Good leaders will find ways to put the spotlight on all the commies, trannies and jihadis who won this week. There should be moments provided by Democrats every week to dunk on them and Conservatives should be ready rather than fight themselves.

The hubris here is off the charts.
Tom Horne is the greatest threat to school choice & the ESA program in Arizona. Tone Horne will lose to the Democrat in the 2026 general election. Arizona needs a strong, pro-school choice candidate for this very important office. I’m working on identifying that candidate now.

Romney tried to do something to save the political viability of conservatism before it was completely tarnished by trumpism. Not a squish in that sense.
I voted for Romney but not enthusiastically. In hindsight I wish I had left it blank. Total squish.

"Democrats for JD Vance" signs coming to the street corners of Laveen, Arizona in 2028.
It’s time to get back to work.

Obviously Trump and his circle will blame everyone but themselves. Now it's up to republicans who maybe want to hold power sometime this century to tell them they're wrong and act accordingly.

Maybe he's going there to ask nicely for the president to end the war and reduce the tariffs.

We should not be using robots to grade student writing. Bad incentives all around.
Thousands of STAAR reading results improved after humans rescored students’ written answers. Most of the initial grading was done by an automated engine. Via @TexasTribune buff.ly/iSC7JlT

2. Teaching. For high-stakes test, teachers will train students to pass the test. If we use robots to grade writing, the robots will use predictable tendencies. Thus, teachers will train students to write poorly - but in a way that demonstrates patterns that robots can detect.

What's the point of human writing? If the goal is to completely standardize student writing, good news - they can use ChatGPT and the robots will grade them perfectly every time. If the goal is to promote thinking and self-expression, then provide qualitative human feedback.

Vance traces America's problems (as he sees them) back to a specific time period: Ronald Reagan's presidency.
Vance: "If you are trying to undo 40 years of globalization, it's going to take time to fix that. You have a few tone deaf Republicans who say, 'Shut up if you're pissed off about a $22 burrito.' My response to that is... No. Listen to people who are upset with the state of the economy."

Good description of the politics of the Vance-wing of the GOP: "American postliberals have no objection to third-world government. What they want, and have always wanted, is a third-world government that works for them." - @allahpundit
