Vayne hunted demons her entire life every night patrolling alleys with her crossbow & silver bolts. she watched a demon take her parents. she watched them FEED on the WEAK. she promised herself she'd be the one to END them. but here's what nobody tells you about hunting in the dark for too long the dark starts HUNTING back every demon she killed left a piece of itself inside her. every kill she felt their hunger. every silver bolt she fired had to draw blood from her own hand to consecrate it. she was bleeding into her own arrows for years. she didn't realize she was already half theirs. "you've been killing my kind for years" vayne raised her crossbow. evelynn smiled. didn't move. didn't flinch. just walked toward the bolt slowly, like she already knew vayne wouldn't fire. "you don't hunt us because you hate us. you hunt us because you're TERRIFIED of how much you want to be one of us" vayne's hand shook. evelynn closed the distance. ran a claw down vayne's jaw. soft, intimate. like she was claiming something that was already hers.
