As tonight was Cancer Awareness Night at the football game, I want to take a moment to talk about my dad. David Whitaker, my dad, came up with the idea for the site. Until Pancreatic Cancer took him in November 2017, he was the business manger. I've had to learn how to do everything with him gone & I'm still learning. I like to think he's smiling down from Heaven proud of what Bleckley Progress has become.
FYI on a couple of things- one, the senior night section is coming tomorrow. Two, the board of Education had a brief meeting Thursday afternoon and passed the millage rate. There was no increase, so there were no hearings. I will post the r a t e as soon as I get it.
HS Cross country teams both won today at the sectionals tune-up meet held in Cochran. I've got contributed pictures of the winners plus senior recognition I'll be posting on the site later this evening.
